Calvin415's ADA 60-P Build

Thanks a lot Calvin; I cant wait to see this build progress.

Well it's a crappy pic (phone) since I keep forgetting to charge my camera battery, but you get the idea...

Goo start. I'm subscribing to this thread.

Thanks!

Grout is done, working on wood work under the bar, and the tank is drilled and ready for some PVC pipes... But I need to finish under the bar, then build my sump and overflow box. Maybe this week.

Again, sorry for the bad phone pics, I'll get some better ones before water hits it.

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Here is the expansion of the ATO water (55 drums) and my mixing barrel (175g barrel) in the middle... The 55's are plumbed together and feed the 1/4" line that runs under the tank (110g I'm guessing will last me 3 months?)... The water change line is currently hanging from the top of the barrel, but will also be plumbed down into the utility room for painless water changes.

Have you received the rocks yet? if so what are the sizes of the rocks? I'm planning a new build and clueless one what size to get nano or the regular box. Also great looking build you got will definitely be reading for updates.

Yeah, was disappointed, figured I'd get a few golf balls, instead of got 5 rocks that were the size of lemons which I glued together to form 1 piece. The other 24lbs were golf balls at best, mostly marbles... Order nano, not rubble. :(

Been a late night, but pipes tested dry!!! Now I just need to build my overflow box to raise the water level in the tank. :)

Have you fired up the Sicce yet? If so, how do you like it? I am thinking of getting one for a return on my 45gal. Its in my living room, so I want something quiet.

Great looking tank BTW!!!

looking good. And you are right, the ADA's are amazing!

Thanks, yeah I'm an ADA addict now. ;)

Wow this is a nice build! Can't wait to see it finished!

Thanks, I can't wait either.

I love ADA tank builds. Amazing job, can't wait to see your stocking!!

Thanks!

wow so clean looking

Thanks!

Yes, at first it sounded a little loud, but it's hard piped so there is a little pressure on the pump itself. I moved it around a little and found it's "happy spot" and now it's quiet as can be! :) My skimmer is by far the loudest piece of equipment, unless I crank up the MP10... I'm hoping that when I get salt added it will help the skimmer make less noise.

Great build

Looks great without any corals!

What are you doing for an overflow box?

Looking forward to the rest of the build

Are you going to put a riser on the return ? I personally would never depend on a check valve to maintain water level in a tank.

should put together a ADA owners thread on RC to keep em together!

That would be cool!

Nice build!

Thanks!

Thanks, overflow box will be a slim, black box that will be just large enough to function, minimal look will be the priority.

Yes, a 7" riser will be placed and hidden in the rock work... I'm not blindly relying on the check valve... While it works, I will be doing routine tests to validate it's fuction, and it can be easily replaced if I find that it begins to leak... As a backup I also have the sump built to handle the water in the event of a long term power outage and a failed check valve.
