Came home to see my skimmer freakin out

After the photo I started sucking the foam out with my python hose attachment. I did this for about 20 minutes then slowed down.

has it stopped foaming like that yet?

routine causes would be

1) did something die?
2) did you add something (anything) to the aquarium recently?

in addition to chemical additives, sometimes new carbon or a new filter bag can cause crazy foaming.....

the last time I saw skimmate like THAT someone had placed a live Maine lobster in their reef aquarium's sump in order to keep it alive and fresh :wildone:

Sounds like a good plan - you get a headstart on boiling it by putting it in water that's twice as warm as it's natural habitat! :lol:

yeah I put in a brand new filter bag. It was brand new never used. perhaps i should rinse them for now on.

My skimmer does that every time I use that aqua putty to anchor down my frags.

Damn ,nothing like a gone "postal skimmer.".....wow thats alot of foam.
