Can someone post a pic of their TRUE PPE please

I'd like to see some pictures of true PPE. I know you can see them on zoaid but those are nicer pics than your average reefer. I picked up a polyp, but hard to tell if it's the real deal. Is there any definative way to tell?

here it is. Not the best pic. But that is essentially what it looks like just a little less blue. The skirt is green, just hard to tell in this pic. Oh also, it's a little smaller than a dime.

What do people consider being "true" PPE? I hear the term being thrown around but it's never been clear to me what exactly it refers to; lineage to Blane or just a purple paly with a green skirt and center.

I figured true was lineage to Blane. Guess it doesnt' have to be as long as it looks the part. But to me, this one doesn't quite look right. Or maybe they just aren't what I expected.

In the case of PPE, I call them True PPE only if they are traceable to Blane. You'd have to know if the person you got them from was reputable.

The ones I've seen look just like the ones in the older pics on ZoaID.

I've seen some different "fake" ones where Joker Palys looked closer to PPE than the fake ones.

From that picture, it does not look to be PPE.

Another thing you should be aware of, all corals.. even those from the exact same lineage, will not always look the same. Tyree Limited Edition corals that brown out, still are "True" Tyree LE, even though they might not look like someone elses or the pretty eyecandy on reeffarmers website.

yeah good point. But either way, the poly I got looks pretty pathetic. Oh well. Anyone have some nicer looking PPE they'd want to trade for some of the neozos in my avatar?

Also looking for other nice hard to get palys/zoos. But PPE is #1 on the list for now.

Good luck in getting a PPE for the neo's, although cool looking and I'm not talking bad about the neo's it like saying :
Trading an unkown sps that looks cool for a Nice LE Tyree SPS thats hard to come by...

PPE's although not the most badass looking polyp... finding a TRUE PPE is hard.. there are a lot out there being sported as PPE's but are actually some form of JOKER PALY. I know of a bunch of BADASS looking zoo's and Paly's out there but the difference is they are easier to get a hold of compared to a PPE.
Which makes their price and the Must have title still holds on.

I got 2 different types of PPE's 1 from Viper_930 and a handfull from Steve Tyree... The Tyree ones look exactly the ones from Blane Peruns site.... but Vipers although nice, look a little different from the ones I got from Tyree.

Im actually in the process of acquiring some nice Paly's... I'll let you know for future trades. My PPE's have already been promised to 2 other folks.

Yeah, the more I look at it, the PPe doesn't look that stunning. I guess I was just looking for something with a big name. But I am open to any nice palys/zoos. Only trades at the moment tho, cuz I ran in to some car troubles I gotta pay for. If anyone is interested, send me some pics of what you have.

I agree the neos I have don't have a "big custom name" attached to it, but I do think it has a very original look to it.

Yep, PPE's are ok. But there's way cooler stuff out there. True PPE aren't that hard to get. They've been passed around for a long time now. It's just that there are a ton of wannabee PPE's around also.

I haven't gotten around to getting any PPE still. I'll get some at some point just to have some, but they're not anything that I'm really dying to have.

Don't get fixated on the big name. I'd go for an unknown way cool SPS before I go for Steve Elias stag any day. There's tons of Elias stag around the Bay Area.

Don't laugh, there's been at leats 2 swap events where someone has brought PPEs that I saw, and one where raffled (although don't think there will be a raffle this time)

I have been through many different zoas and my favorite by far are the PPE. Maybe it was because I went through 4 different small frags before this one made it. They are also the slowest growing of the group.
