I have a fairly large green carpet anemone and would love to split it. I've heard it's possible, however, I wouldn't have the slightest clue how to do it...can anyone help?
It's not possible. The only anemones that can be force propagated (cut) are BTAs and Ritteri (H. magnifica) to a lesser extent. There are NO KNOWN CASES of this being successful with a carpet anemone. There are videos and whatnot of people slicing their carpet nems, but no one has evidence of the recovery of the sliced halves, that eventually turned into two healthy nems. It just won't happen.
This is a video about BTAs, NOT carpet anemones. We need to keep in mind that posting videos with the assumption that all anemones are the same will lead to mis-information and dead nems.
