Carpet Anemone not looking good

Anemone are brighter in color as they deflated. More pigment over a smaller area. Carpet can still very stickie as they fall apart. You can touch tentacles of a dying anemone and patches of the tentacles will stick to your hand and ripped of the anemone. Dying anemone will really smell bad from the bacterial in their tissue. If your anemone is coming apart and smelly it is time to remove him. Use something that scoop him out or more then 1/2 will dissolves as you remove him.

Your anemone will not survive unless you take him out and treat him. Without this he has 0 chance of surviving. Even with treatment, an anemone in this shape is unlikely to live. Unless you prepare the treat him you should remove him from your system.

Should I be able to smell the tank water or do I actually need to pull it out to smell? I hate to move him at this point, unless that is it and he has to go : (

if tissue is falling off of the anemone, then its dying and it should be removed. from the picture, it doesnt look good at all. haddoni is probably one of the easier anemone to keep imo, but proper water parameters still need to be maintained. 1 month in the tank isnt that long. what is vibrant for? never ever add chemical to a reef tank! many years ago, i tried a product called rid-ick, and it crashed my tank and killed many corals. after that, i quarantine everything. good luck.

try running carbon and do a water change. monitor it often. any sign of deterioration, just take it out.

I've got RO water running now for a 20% change. I won't be able to get it changed until maybe late tonight.. I have carbon in the system already.
I have seen very tiny parts of him disintegration.. fish come up and seem to want to try to eat it. Hermit crabs hanging around it a little too. Not much change from early this morning.

I guess my biggest question now is... what would be the odds of it surviving and is the chance worth the consequence if it dies off totally in the tank. And what are the consequences (poison killing everything?)

It looks like it's dead already. A smell test will confirm. No need to prolong this when you risk polluting your tank.

I just pulled it. it has no smell at all. tentacles are sticky. but when I put him back in, some more white milky looking stuff came out near the mouth.

Just take it out and throw it away. If chunks are falling off, it is already dead.

Thanks everyone
I took it out tonight and put him in a container floating in the water to keep the temp the same. I didn't much change good or bad all day
I doubt he is going to make it this way but at least he won't contaminate the tank
:-(

Don't add unknown substance to your tank. Vibrant has no listed ingredient. I did some research after reading your post, there were too many "Wow this stuff work". It raised a flag for me. I'm not saying vibrant killed your nem. But it was the only new thing you introduced into your system.

I also did before I bought it.. It seems like there has been no problems with it at all so far.. only good results.
