Hi all,
I just purchased my first carpet Anemone the other day. It's a nice lime green color. I have a question though about placement of him. I've seen pic's of them in the sand and even at the LFS in their display tank, they had a nice red one in the sand bed. However, the tank that mine came out of, all of the carpets were up in the rocks attached. My question is where is a good place for them? Do they need to be in the sand?
I currently have him attached to some L/R higher up in the tank. I have a 3' tall tank and am running 400W DE MH 20K coralvue lights on the end of the tank where he is. When the MH lights are off, he seems to open up and look good. Sometimes after i get home and the light on his end of the tank has recently gone off, he seems to be shriveled up like he may be gettng too much light. Should I move him down to the sand bed then? Or let him just find his own happy place? He has moved around on the rock some since I put him in.
I'm also picking up a RBTA tonight and will be placing him in the same tank. He will be several feet away from the carpet in the tank and am looking at placing him about half way down in the rocks. I know the tank he came out of, he was higher up in the rocks under 250 W SE MH lights so I don't think the 400's will bother him too much if I place him about half way down.
Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? TIA.
