My arm got stung by my carpet. My arm was burning immediately and its swelling now. How long does it take to heal? It really feels like fire burn :(

Right after the sting

I had something similar from Haddoni sting.. there were no bumps.. but my whole wrist was itchy/burning for 2 days..

The same thing happened to me as a result getting stung by a large gigantea. I also experienced other ailments, but I don't know if it was directly related. Let us know if other symptoms develop.

Sure I will update it daily and see how it goes

wd40 works on ant bites, might work on Nem stings as well, dunno never had a reaction to test it.

Looks like a pretty bad reaction. I would be concerned that the next one may be worse.

Maybe having an epi pen handy would be a good idea. It does look like an allergic reaction.

I would also get tested for Bee or Wasp stings.

Whatever they recommend for sea wasp stings should also work for anemone stings, though it isn't vinegar anymore:

"Until 2014, the application of vinegar was a recommended treatment because vinegar (4-6% acetic acid) permanently deactivates undischarged nematocysts, preventing them from opening and releasing venom.[13] This practice is no longer recommended after it was demonstrated in vitro that while vinegar deactivates unfired nematocysts, it causes already-fired nematocysts (which still contain some venom) to release the remaining venom.[14]

Trust me when I tell you that if anything burns, or stings you that vinegar does infact work. I don't know about box jellyfish but I was stung by many different kinds of jellies and vinegar worked and it worked well. The other thing you can do is pee on it. Ya but it really does work when you are out on a boat and get stung and don't have any vinegar. Vinegar works great on relieving sunburn pain too.

Am I really the only one who whips out the wd40 for these kinds of things? Come on guys live a little. :P
