Carpets, LTA's, anemones in general....in Bare Bottom systems

I think you just confirmed what Slakker said, nowhere to go in a 20g, and I have to agree too, my LTA is 18-20" and sebae about 22-24".
In your 90 it had room to move, moving nems usually means not happy.
LTA's are naturally in sand, that's it, it may survive in a BB, but how healthy /happy?
It doesn't have much choice.
How long have you had it?

I agree with Davocean and others...

The reason for your anemone not moving around in your 20 gal. tank is becuase it's so small and it simply is forced to stay in one place. It can't find it's prefered spot as there is no place for it to go. It is not given a choice...

Keeping sand dwelling anemones in BB tanks is like being homeless. Can you survive being homeless? Sure you can. Will you be happy and thrive? No, you won't.

Just because your anemone is alive and not bleached, does not mean it is happy and will survive for many many years.

Clowns will often be hosted by unnatural species in our aquariums...this is evidenced daily by the pair of Ocellaris that are in and out of my frogspawn

I have about a 2in sand bed with select spots built up to 4in for my LTA, it stayed in the deep sand for about a week, then started moving around.
After a couple months of constant movement it totally disappeared and I thought it had died so I replaced it with a haddoni, which planted in the sand immediately, moved against a rock and hasnt moved since.
The LTA reappeared a couple weeks after the haddoni was added and has footed in my rockwork about halfway up, and has doubled in size in the last month.

I've got a LTA in my 90 BB. Running on 3 years and it hasn't moved a bit.. Very happy anemone.

Well, running 78x turn over for this anem. was not a good thing...It attached after 3 days, flipped the second pump on for about 58x turnover and that was it, anemone in the PH...so ended up getting another BTA which is doing brilliantly.
