Change Water Disposal

I'm becoming increasing concerned about the affects saltwater is having on the plumbing directly adjacent to my basement floor draing. It's starting to tarnish the water meter directly over my floor drain and rust a few bolts as well so its prompting me to try and find a solution to minimize this problem.

How does everyone dispose of their change water? Do they dump it down a toilet, sink, basement drain, maybe a special drain or garage sink?

I have a possible option that is worth looking into. My basement is plumbed for a bathroom that won't be installed for awhile so I'm thinking about setting up some sort sink down there using one of those drains.

Thanks for your input.

Basement drain and the yard.... ummm wait I didn't just say my yard... ummm why is that grass all brown dear? :p

Since I live in the country.... I dump along the fence line and on the gravel drive. Does not seem to be cutting down on the weed growth though....

toilet sometimes, utility sink in basement sometimes. I either flush toilet or run rinse water in utility sink afterwards. Although I am in favor of pouring it in Travis' yard ;-)

is the water splashing up on your meter?? If so that would be the cause of the rust (like you need me to tell you that), but if it is NOT splashing up I'd check your humidity levels.

Oh and I ussed floor drains and my gravel drive when I lived in KS and here I use the toilet...... except the one time I ran a tube into the vacant lot next door - but with a house on it now I don't dare.....

I throw the skimmer water in the back yard. 'bout 3-5 gallons a week. Grass seams to be greener there, though the dog avoids that spot now. Go figure.

Poor dog still remembers the hang over it had the last itme it drank anything that came from your vodka soaked tank...

I give it the old flush a roo! Down the toilet! :D

I usually flush it twice after I dump the water in it to make sure the salt water ain't sitting in the pipe somewhere.

No need for vodka in this tank, but it did work on the 75. :D
