charter price went WAY TOO HIGH, might need to switch, what do you have?

This is what I did 2 years ago and I only pay 90 something for All movie channels with 2 boxes and Internet. However that is not HD, but that should not cost that much more.

I did that when I signed up originally too Lonnie. I get the same deal from Charter, all the channels, etc.

Try telling Charter you are considering switching to Dish, or are switching from Dish and they will deal...

I already have had charter for a year

I am goign to stay at the same rate, but now I only have showtime

so Im at $96 for 3meg internet, digi cable w/ 1 box and both HD tiers and showtime until July

dish has a everything pack for like 90 bucks, all premium channels included. 96 for showtime only, i also pay couple bucks for receiver and couple for local channels so probally for 100 to 110 i could have all channels.

The thought is just unreal. Us old people used to get TV for FREE!, had one phone line and NO internet. It's hard to think that now we have 4 phone lines, 1 land and 3 cell, for about $80 a month, Cable internet for $30 a month and DirectTV for $90 a month.

It makes you want to crawl under a rock and hide.

Call and complain, say you are going to switch, they will drop it back down.

Guaranteed. May also get a few movie channels thrown in for free. Every time my charter bill goes over 100 I call and they reduce it
I tried to do this myself when my current deal ran up. They wouldn't budge one inch with me and I ended up canceling my Charter telephone and switching to Vonage, and downgrading my cable to basic. I'm not paying much less than I was before, but at least those jerks at Charter won't be getting (as much of) my money. :)

same here, all they offered me was taking away the premiums, which I had to do

I even called the disconnection line and they werent sweating it at all...maybe they're on to us

Tell them you want a contract. I had a 2 year contract the first time and I just got a 2nd contract for another year.

Call and ask for a contract!! I just had my parents do the same thing.

You can always do what my wife and I did. We have a 4ft wide screen. It only plays one channel though. But it happens to be my favorite channel. Live streaming 24 hours a day, all though late night it's a little dark. We have a 2 bedroom condo, so it was either a t.v or a tank. And considering I am speaking to fellow SW freaks, we all know the obvious choice!!

I have sbcglobal dsl and att wireless and charter for TV. We hate charter. You should not have to call, complain and threaten to switch to get a reduced rate. I have a bunch of drops in my house and if I could get satellite TV for the same price I would switch in a heartbeat. When I switched from pipeline to DSL they tired to sell me phone service. Stones of steel.....

That's why I said, always tell them cancel it effective 30 days from today. That way if they call your bluff.

I have
3 boxes (1-HD DVR, 1-HD and 1- Digital)
DVR Service
3mb internet (sorry, thought it was 5)
ALL movie channels
HD service
Phone

AFTER taxes $148.33

Best thing to do is be nice to them, strike up a conversation. I have a lady I deal with now that works in the Michigan call center who emails me from work (not allowed), I have her home and cell number and when I have an issue I just send her a text message. I know everything about her family and life and you know what. She's in the Retention department.

However, I did originally get the HD DVR since they took away my HD CBS

The last thing I'll say is NO ONE can beat the "charter on demand" assuming you have the movie channels. Best feature they ever came out with.

Good Luck

I know...I love on demand

I saw one of the satellites offering a form of video on demand now, so maybe that'll pan out
