Chinese LED Lights

I have a IT 2080 light and need to change some of the lights. It came with some of the white on the blue channel in one corner so I need to change the position of six of the LEDS. What do I need to do to change them? Thanks for any help you can give.

I just got it around to changing the lights. It ended up to be 12 of them that were wrong. All good now. Thanks again for the help. I would not have used thermal paste w/o your help probably ruining my light.

Prince- I'm using an AJM reef LED fixture (bridgelux multicolor) and couldn't be happier. About $180 shipped for a fixture without optics. These ship with the standard dimmer knobs for manual control of blues an white intensity, but I specifically got the AJM because the ballasts can be controlled with a 0-10v signal so with a little re-wiring these are now completely controlled by my Apex aquacontroller.

Currently lighting the center of a 180-gallon and my SPS is coloring better than under the 250w Hamilton 14K I was using.

How hard was it to wire up to your Apex? Is there a diagram or a link to any post on how you did it?
Thankx

There are three wires running from the dimmer knob circuit board to the LED driver (driver is labeled 0-10v by the way).

I just tested the lines to see which ones showed a voltage with my multimeter (middle and furthest away from the board) and then hooked these up to a spliced RJ-45 cord I had laying around from the days before wireless.

The hardest part was finding out the type of RJ-45 cord I was using had a few of the wires switched around (this is common for these cords).

Suppliers could save themselves a few bucks by giving those of us with controllers one RJ-45 port and eliminating the dimmer knobs.

Guys I just want to ask something about my it2040, after entering my custom setting under the every thirty minute settings and saving each and every time, it runs ok when previewed. after entering my settings and was running what ive entered, i intentionally turn the avr off, and on, to see what will happen in case there is a blackout. it loaded the custom setting under the per hour basis, not the settings ive entered. so i have to manually go to customs and click my setting in order to run it. is there any step that ive missed or theres something wrong with the unit?

What LED would you guys suggest for a frag tank that measures 17"x17"x12". The rack only measures 16"x12" so the light does not need to cover the whole area. I would prefer to have some lower light areas anyway. It does however need to handle SPS. I was considering the 12x3w Cree Eshines. Would that workout, or do I need more power. Also not looking to break the bank. Thanks in advance.

Have you read the thread? The answer is there.

Yes I have gone through this thread It is over 2500 post and a good chunk of them are out dated as far as equipment goes. I do thank you for your assist though, it's people like you that keep the rest of us coming back. Always so helpful.

Actually I made a mistake. The total of the two threads is actually about 6700 total posts. Damn me for not reading each and every one.

The smaller of the fixtures is the value fixture (D120 by evergrow). With a tank that small the value fixture will pretty much cover the entire tank. I haven't heard anything about eshine in a while other than the not so stellar customer service after the purchase.

Have you thought of kessil or just 2 par 38 Dimmable lights.. I would think that you could get good coverage and all you want with 2 par38 multi color bulbs. I think my value fixture is like 16 or 17" by itself. The kessil would prob be the most clean lookin of the bunch but you can prob get the coverage you want with 2 Dimmable par38 bulbs in goosenecks.. My brother in law has one on a nano and it's been doing good for a few months only Acans though but growing them great. We got in on aliexpress and found the goose neck on amazon.

Your tank is pretty shallow at 12" (if im reading the dimensions right)so I think most of the lights talked about in this thread would be way overkill for your tank.
Good luck rapid sells par38's as well as I think other DIY company's. We got my inlaws for $70 shipped with a remote and two types of whites,RB,red and violet. Looks nice and is more than enough for his 8 gal tank at about 50%..

Sure the thread is long, do the homework like everyone else.

Thx for the assist. I'll check some of this out.

The one thing I haven't read in either of these threads is much about the multichip LED's like the 30w and 50 watters. *EDITED*~dc I have been out of the hobby for a while, but back in my days there was a lot of discussion about the benefits of putting all your wattage into intense points of light vs having it spread out. What would be the drawbacks to using something like this vs an array of 3w led's?

Can you (or someone) elaborate on this specifically ?

Ok opinions please. 90 gallon tank, 48" long. Will one IT 2080 (32") led be enough to light the whole tank or do I need to get two of the smaller units. Low light on the ends does not bother me but if there are obvious shadows on the ends that will not look to good to us. I know some have asked this but has anyone with a 48" long tank bought a it2080 and had good/bad dark spots on the ends.

I have one IT2080 on a 48'' long 75 gallon and I have no dark spots. I think you would be fine. You just might have to raise it a little bit. Also, optics will help you but I will let others speak on that because I think I have the wrong optics on my fixture.

I think you will be just fine light wise with the IT2080, and happier with the timer/controller and only 1 power cord. I got my controller dialed in the way I wanted it and it runs 24/7 doing just what I want. If you have any issues with light at the edges you can take off the 90 degree lenses at both ends and that will solve the coverage issues. I got almost 4' of coverage with a single D120 when I took off the 90 degree lenses (unfortunately the tank is 4' so I added a 2nd D120 and it works great as well. I'm getting some 120 degree lenses to put on all the UV, violet and red leds as well as the moonlights on the IT series lights to spread their effect over more of the tank (but I've got no spotlight effect at all in my tank).

here is the latest suggest to me for the layout.. is this to many different leds?

Channel 1:35K-10 65K-12 10K-12 450-6 460-4 520-2 630-1 660-1
Channel 2:450-22 440-12 460-10 400-2 420-2
Channel 3: 450nm-3
