My question is, while I anxiously await my lights arrival, what does it mean to dial lights up and down? Is that like the intensity for each channel? Also, is this what is used to acclimate the corals to new lights? I have LEDs on my tank now, but they are only blue and white. I'm sorry if these questions sounds really dumb, I just obviously have no idea what they are. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for that. I guess by some sort of divine intervention, my transaction didn't go through. I just read up a bit on the photon lights by reef breeders and am probably going to go with those instead. Now, I just need to figure out which ones...
Channel 1:35K-10pcs, 65K-12pcs, 10K-12pcs, 450-6pcs, 460-4pcs, 520-2pcs, 630-1pcs, 660-1 .
Channel 2:450-22pcs, 440-12pcs, 460-10pcs, 400-2pcs, 420-2pcs.
Channel 3: 450nm-3
If you go back to pg100 you'll see the layout on the fixture I bought, it looks similar. This was done in a group buy here in Portland Or and the supplier here will be using this layout I believe.
I did replace the 35's on the ends with 10k, it looked a little yellow and dim at the ends. When I lined them up together I left the 35's on the end of one fixture so it still follows the original pattern.
There is a comment/reply from Reefbreeders on the light layout also, I did not change any other bulbs once they were up and programed, I like the look so far, there is a picture on pg99
I have two 2080 that I have had for about a month and I have had three LEDs stop working. Is there somewhere in the states I send them in for repair.
PM sent.
It looks like the evergrow light only uses 2W bulbs vs the the 3w bulbs in the Reefbreeders photons series. Also the photons have a digital ramp up/down controller built right in.
Are there any other major differences here.
Is reefbreeders considered Chinese? They say they have a 2yr USA warranty

The Reef Breeders Value Fixture and Photon series are both made by EverGrow in China. EverGrow calls them a D120 and IT2040, IT2060 and IT2080. Other than color layout, they are identical. They both use 3w Bridgelux leds. They aren't as strong as Crees, but they work just fine. They both under drive the 3w leds so they run cooler and last longer. I got better PAR from all my EG fixtures (3 different models) than I did from my Eco Tech Radion (which I sold). Reef Breeders is comfortable enough with EverGrows quality that they offer a 2 year warranty. EverGrow fixtures come without any label and logo so any distributors can re-brand them. I've had mine for 3 months now and they all work perfectly.
Bostoreef, sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I do not have PM set up on my computer.
If you could answer here it would be great. I have had one more LED light go down since my original post.
