Chinese LED Lights

Bhazard - What do you think of his layout on my A4? Im adding some reds and greens and I am going to take out the UV and replace them with neutrals. Was going to replace Two neutrals with reds and two neutrals with greens.

No need to take out UV. My next build is going to mimic the new Radion layout, so I will use 405nm near UV and 420nm violet.

I was thinking of doing a massive DIY 2x Radion equivalent over my 120 gallon tank, but with the announcement of the 48" IT light, I may get one of those if the price is good. Would save countless hours of time and look much cleaner. 324w is serious business, and approaches what two maxspect razors output. I actually really wanted to go with Razors, but I don't like how they are missing red, cyan and green. I'm even going to add yellow leds next time to test them out and see if Ecotech is on to something.

O. Quick question. Do you think it is necessary to include the 6500k bulbs in this light? It is going over a 40 breeder mixed reef. Also, if you would change anything what would you change? I'm looking for a 14k look. Thanks everyone...
Mike :)

Should be ok, although the whites they use are very bright. I like the look of the 6500k and 3500k on mine, although they need to be mixed with colored leds for the best look imo.

Looks like there will be a 36" 234w version, and a 48" 324w version of the lights too. I'm interested in what the cost of the 48" would be, and if it would cover my 72" 120 gallon.

From ever grow? Wow that sounds very cool... the 48 would be sick on my 60" 120 could prob even get away with the 36"... wonder what price range these will be in and how many less per unit ...

If the d120s are 3 watt leds driven at a little over 2 watts ... (2.2 if my math is correct) then the 36" unit running at 234 watts would be around 105-110 led unit and the 48" would be around 145-150 led unit.... wonder how long till these Come out I'd be super interested

Need a good layout with uv mix of white red and violet...who's foot a good lay out. Maybe should have a thread just for layouts

I just got back into reefing after being down a few years. I am using MH lighting from coralife about 500 watts. May tank is a 120 gal 48x24x24. I like the color I have now, could go just a little more blue. I am not sure what light config I should put in. I want to add 2 fixtures. Can I please get some advice?

Just ordered this light after many emails back and forth. It's a little different setup than what you guys are talking about, but also very similar. This light has a 3 way timer but no sunrise sunset function, but is dimmable. To get the sunrise sunset timer they wanted about +$60 , I didn't think it was worth it, I did get 90* optics though.

Now waiting on shipment.

My DIY led driver died, so I started looking at these Chinese lights and found this thread so I thought I'd share.

Twilight makes pretty good lights, and their sunrise/sunset control is nice, but their white leds are nowhere near as bright as Evergrows. The fixture looks dimmer in comparison.

Hi all, i have a 24inch deep tank, (5x2x2)

I will be installing 3 Led Unit (17.5inches x 24inces)

As the my led unit comes close to the edge of the tank , i am putting 60 degress secondary optics on all the edges. Anyone has comments on the Optic spread?

60 degrees is a narrow spread. It points almost directly straight down. I prefer 90.

Would it be a waste at the edge to have it at 90? you dont get much back from the refection from the tank i suppose?

Another question is whether which PAR level is higher or the same

A narrower beam or 2 overlapping wider beam?

Just mimic the new ecotech layout, and include warm whites. Its easier that way.

Just a brief note to confirm that FOBSUN did deliver my lamps. Product is of great quality, was pretty well packaged and did function correctly. They argued that street demonstrations against Japan and recent national holiday affected their delivery timing. Regards.

i'm planing on using two evergrow d120's with 90 degree lenses. the tanks is a standard 75g (48"L x 18"W x 21'H). pure sps tank with an emphasis on acro's. im looking for a 18k-20k look. what color would it look like if i did the new ecotech layout? i've liked in the past nearly a 3/1 blue to white mix but the pinks in the old tank looked brown. if could find a good blue heavy layout that retains other colors i would be happy. (sorta like the t5 setup i changed it out to).

the 3/1 blend didn't include any royals because they were 4x1w e27's. i didn't have any royals to play with when changing the led's so it would be great to have them this time.

what do you suggest for a led layout. i could go 60 degree optics and mount them higher but don't want a disco ball effect on the rocks and if 90's can get 300 par to the bottom that's fine for everything i have planned.

They have a default layout with colored LEDs if you ask. Just use more royal blue LEDs for the extra blue look. Usually twice as many blue to white

+1 I had 60 degree on my first set and did not care for them. Went with 90's on my second set and like them a ton better. I have two above my 75 gallon tank.

I can't link, but they are called Evergrowlighting. The other suppliers are twilight group, gehl, green sun, and a bunch more
