Chinese LED Lights

Monkiboy or those who have sent in custom configurations, did you have any complications with dealing with the company? Also what is the price range for custom fixtures?

Custom layout with them is a breeze. They send you a layout spredsheet and you fill in your requirement. They invoice you with the specification. Sometime they might tell you they charge extra 50 cents for some particular LED. However, they will wavie that eventually.

what fixtures do you have in mind? they have a d120 that's about 189 offer PayPal fees or 169 on sale starting the 29th. the others are a high end one called a Nova a4. those I think are around $340 plus 5% if you pay PayPal. corespondance can be lenghty because they sleep when were away in China so email responce happens after 10pm cst. the only diffaculty I had was when they send the invoice the layout was reversed on on half of the unit so all I had to do was let them know it was incorrect and Sonny fixed it and send a new invoice with the corrected layout. if you can get on a group buy with a local club and order at least 10 the sale prices drop down to 135 for standard units and 145 for the customized ones like we order with optics. that's at the end of the month through most of December.

Hello,
I am from Belgium and I want to buy 2X 32" 200W controllable fixture at RB with 99 leds for 900 usd.They are as followed:channel 1:24X7500K;4X 480nm;4x520nm;4X630nm;4X660nm;4X410nm;4X420nm
Channel 2: 48X450nm and Channel ": 3X480nm as moonlights
First problem:do I have to switch the withes ones to 28 pieces and RB from 48 to 44?The 28 whites than into 6X 10K:16X7,5K and 6X 3,5K
Second :the optics are 90° but I want to put on the greens and reds 120°
Third:is it better to put on the first and last row of the leds 120° for better spreading the lights in my tank?
Tank sizes are 64" and 29,5" wide and 25,6" deep
Please some help?
Many thanks

Frank

I don't think you need to have 120 since your tank is 64" and you ordered 2. Also, the 120 won't penatrate over 24", your tank is 25.6 deep and you might get minimum light at the bottom. Color wise, do they offer both 410 and 420? Both are low light emitting leds. You might get dim light out of these 8.

I am not sure of the violets 410 and 420?But they say 99 leds and if I count them its 99 leds that way? What about switching the whites into 10K-7,5K and 3,5K
At this moment I have 2X250W 14K and 2XT5 80W blue plus on my thank and I like that kind of color?

Kind regards

Frank

Travis,

When your lights are all dialed up to 100%, what color would you say you have in terms of color temp by MH standards? Are they 14K light blue or 17K somewhere between 14K and 20K, or are they all the way up at 20K MH blue? I really appreciate any info you can share. I'm working on my color layout for both a D120 and a pair of IT2080s. Thanks.

I can't answer this yet because I haven't gotten my lights yet .... I ordered them .

I currently have a d120 with 30 blues and 21 whites but the whites are all 10-12k so there not as white or yellow as a 7500k or a 3500k white ... I think at 2 to 1 ratio if the whites are 10k will easily be close to 20k... but if your using more or 75k or a 35k whites then your gonna need a little more then a 2:1 ratio ... but I can't say for sure right now my d120 with 30 blues and 21 whites is almost at a 1.5 blue to 1 white(10k) ratio and I'd say its around a 16k look with my reef brite on more towards a 18k very close to 20k...

I wanna get as close to 20k as I can also ... Logan at reef breeders helped me with my ratio and layout ... he thinks it will be around there and we shall see .... I'm hoping its at least 18k and with my reef brite its closer to 20k so its hard to say until I see it

Mr. Big shot I see you're located in mn. I wouldn't mind doing a group buy. I will pm you about the local club I'm in to see if you know about it.

Hay Travis, Did you decide to go with 90 degree optics? I would like to swap out a few leds and add 2- green and 2-660nm reds and 2-400nm to my current D120's but am afraid i would get a spotlight effect from those colors. Any opinions?

Well I did go with 90degree optics .... I can't say for sure on the spotting cause I don't have red and green in the unit I have now but I will shortly .... but I believe bhaz tried it out and didn't notice any spotting...

If you hold one the units towards a wall it makes a blend of colors in a circle like pattern not a bunch of individual colors pointed at the wall so I think they all blend together and dont cause spotting

Thank you for the info I am very intrigued to buy a pair.

I mean 120° spread. Sorry for the confusion.
Since you have 4 X 630 and 4 X 660..these are orange/red and red, the water will be more purple than blue compare to what you have now. I am not sure if changing to 10K will help or not. My personal perference would be 3.5K.

Well I ordered these right before I found out that they have the new 32" unit. Logan at Reef Breeders says he is willing to do a refund and send me the new unit. This would be a good savings for me which I could really use. My tank is is 48X18X24. Not sure what to do now. Would you guys stay with the 2 16' units or go with 1 32" unit?

did you end up sticking with the 2 16's or did you decide to do the single 32? my tank is the same size - and trying to make this same decision.

i just received my 2- IT120'S. I am not sure how high to mount them on my 120 g. it is 48x24x24. cons so one please give me an idea.

New to the site but have been reading through a ton of pages and am ready to pull my hair out... A few questions.

1. Tank is 36 wide 10 tall 10 deep would the it120 have a lot of light spill over the front and back.. what optics to get?

2. I would like a 14k look with full spectrum but have no clue how to do the layout myself... Any links to a good layout would be awsome.
Thanks, Jason

Well here is a picture of what my light looks like. Just got a message and pictures saying it was shipped and the tracking number. Dont have my tank setup yet but I will be sure to post pictures once I get the light setup.

Looks good! What led assortment is it?

I'm getting two of the IT2080 lights to put over my 180g mixed reef with more lps and sps than other kinds of coral. I want something in the 14K MH look. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks.
