Chinese LED Lights

Im still on the fence with these fixtures. Please share your tank shots with fixute info. Also are you still happy with going LED? Thanks

I have mine mounted 8" above the water. With 90 degree optics I am getting 310 PAR on the sandbed (turned all the way up). 24" deep tank with 3" SB. I love them. The savings on electricity and ditching the chiller was worth the risk

Wretch, I love the look of your setup. Are you going for a 14k or 20k look? Any chance you could share the actual layout that you submitted to evergrow? Which violet leds did you use? Thanks so much!

Sorry had go take a picture of computer screen as copy and pasting wasnt working.

Could someone post a good layout for a 16k look that includes the reds, violet and greens. I'm completly lost at the DIY and want to use someone else's layout.. looking for a good full spectrum 16k look any help would be greatly appreciated.

there are a ton of layouts in the old thread and this one, though. just look through and find which you want to run and modify if need be to your liking.

i'd skip the greens in my layout and in general. replace with cool whites for your intended purpose.

g'luck.

Hey, thanks a bunch monkiboy... I was getting lost looking at to many different layouts.. Is your design close to 16k... I am going for the d120.... What temp are the cool whites that replace the greens.. Also, do you have your lights yet and are you happy with em... Thanks.

Wretch, were you going for 14k, 16k, or 20k?

I was shooting for around 14k. I didnt worry too much about it though as I just wanted to get a good spread of color, figured I could adjust the light levels to get a look I like. I can list the exact spectrums I used and someone more knowledgable then me can guess at color.

Royal Blues 460nm - 27
Cool Whites 14000k - 8
Pure Whites 4500k - 3
Warm Whites 3000k - 3
Violet 420nm - 6
Red 660nm - 4
Cyan 495nm -4

Heres my IT2040 from reef breaders, mounted 6" above the water with 90degree optics, on a 52 corner tank. Both channels are at 100% in the picture

How is the light spill with 90° optics? Mine is going in the living room and I don't want to blind anyone trying to watch tv

Very little if any, I turned the light on full blast and adjusted the height till the light hit everywhere in the tank with minimal spill over. I do have the light slid back further towards the overflow on the tank then the middle of the tank so that helps also. Our tank is in the dining room right by the table so spill over is a concern also.
