Chinese LED Lights

hey guys, i am going to order the d120 evergrow and wanted to know should i change the layout or should i go with thw default. i plan on having some select corals, garonians and zoas, robusta, and some hard corals. any advice? i am on the order page and wanted to just double check with people.that may have the light. thanks in advance

yes, my design is close to 14-16k with both at 100%. but again don't worry too much about this as with the POTs you can adjust the light's "look" to your liking and you won't be using both of these at 100% anyway as it's just way too much light/PAR.

i would replace the greens with cool whites. cool whites are 10-12/14k usually.

yes, i posted photos, PAR, and my initial impressions a few posts back of my lights. check it out. happy so far, for sure.

from my research and in talking with folks much smarter than me, it doesn't provide any benefit to the coral for growth and is merely for aesthetics. and that's ok, but i don't like what it does to the the look of the corals and fish so i will be swapping mine out.

Hello! i see here that you guys have some of those chinese leds and i am about to order one myself from shenzen lighting company or something like that and im a bit nervous seeing that i dont really order stuff online often and let alone from china. so has anyone else ordered from here and if ao did you get it or was it some kind of scam? please answer and any help will be appreciated.

Hi Joe,

Maybe you should try actually reading the thread and you'd see lots of people have bought them, most have had good experiences and a few have been not so good. I know it takes time to actually read it all, but that's the way most people lean all about a subject. Give it a try.
 
Yea im pretty sure that i know how this thing works ron but some of us actually have things to do and dont have the time to read through 46 pages. so maybe i used this forum for what its for, asking a questions. if you dont want to answer it than dont.

Are you serious?Funniest 2 posts of the day LOl. Just the last 5 posts above your first answers your question. If you can't find the time to read 2 pages of the thread you just posted on what's the point of posting. Just sayin.

There are a few lights most of us have tried.Twilight and evergrow.. Evergrow being the most popular. Most If not all who posted have had good experiences. Taotronics (ebay)and a few others not so much..
Reef breeders is a good place to get them from a us source that will honor warranty in us if that's your issue.
 
well travis i didnt really have a bad attitude but im just saying forums are for people to post questions and to have experienced people answer them, right? i just figured if i ask a question people wouldnt be so unthoughtful and just answer it. if people would not like to answer them then i dont believe the input is necessary plan and simple. but for the people that did want to help a fellow reefer that is fairly new then thanl you and i believe i got my answer. very appreciated. i might have to pay a little more but for the hassel i think its worth it.

Just received my twilight fixture. Every looks good and functions. Just have to figure out the best way to hang it with the hardware that came with it. Cant wait to get my tank setup even more now. Damn honey do list is holding me back.
 
Thanks for the input monkiboy... One more question. Does the d120 have to be layed out in columns for the dimmers or can it be done checkered like so...
