Chinese LED Lights

Hey Ron if you don't mind me asking, what leds are your running, and what did you upgrade from

I have 2 EverGrow IT2080 fixtures over my 180r lps &sps tank. I switched from a 4 bulb 250W MH with 4 t5's at 160W total and some leds 'stunner' as well. I like the tank MUCH better now. And so does my wife, who pays the electric bill! I run OceanRevive Arctic S026 fixtures over my QT and frag tank (no built-in controllers, just dimmers).

For all of those that were interested in the malibu lights I found some par data, 90* optics, standard layout .9m is 35". This is what the company claims. And that is also only 1 of the "pads" so one 8" pad effectively covers a 14" square, with 200+ par. It will be interesting to see how true this data is.

When you say pad do you mean one of the clusters which includes 24 leds? Aello when do you get your lights?

Yea, sorry I should have been more clear 1 pad is 24 leds , they said my lights should be done today and shipped out. So either next wen or Thursday at the latest, they said 5 days max shipping time.

Oh don't worry I will do much more, I plan on doing a small video of unboxing all the way to putting them on my tank

4 x D120 vs 2 x 2080 ?

4 x D120 vs 2 x 2080 ?

My tank is 72"L x 30"W x 22"H. Replacing 4 x250w MH and 12 T5's.

I am concerned that 2 x 2080's will not cover my wide tank adequately and am considering 4 x D120's mounted width-wise rather than 2 x 2080's mounted longitudinally.

Thoughts?

How well do the 24 inch fixtures cover a 40b? Would this be adequate to grow anything I wish?

Looking at the par data for the RB led and the malibu led, I would say either is good for such a tank. If you went malibu, I would do the 150. They showed me a few pictures of them over a smaller tank and they seam to be really bright. I liked the cost and overall look of the light, on top of par data when deciding my lights.

What do you guys think about the reef radiance lights, specifically the dm 155's? For a little over $400 to light my 125g it's a steal compared to some others.

What do you think about the Arctic. I picked on up and Bo sent me out some different color LEDs to change out the 3.5k and 6.5k. Putting in
Cyan
RB
UV
Indigo
Blue

Alright I have a 66" tank and was thinking of getting the photon48 for the tank instead of two photon24's. There is a substantial price difference. I am just curious if the light will be adequate for the tank. The tank is mostly Anemone but I do keep some heavy light needing nems like magnificas. The last 6 inches on both sides of the tank do not have rockwork so they do not need much light. I was thinking that a 48 would work fine as my current metal halide fixture is 60 inches but from bulb to bulb only measures 45" or so. The light works perfect to cover the tank currently (3x250w MH). I can hang the LEDs as high as 12" over the water if needed and could also swap out some of the end LED's with 120 optics if it would make it cover. The tank is 30" deep with a 2" sand bed so I may have some clams 28" under water. They will be in the middle though directly under the light so would they be fine? Also I can run the light at 100% if needed since most people on here seem to be running theres more around 60%. Thanks for the input. p.s., Ill add a picture of the tank when I get photobucket to work right.

I was thinking the same thing. I was going to go with 2 24's.... but in reality that would just spread the light out a little further, have the same number of bulbs, and cost me about 160$ more (which almost pays for another light).

I tried searching but couldn't find anything on 10 watt LEDs from China. I know there not as efficient but has anyone tried them? I have a 40 breeder and I'm going to build an array with 4 cool white 4 royal blue 1 red and will most likely add 1 green and 1 violet. I may also switch 2 cw for ww or nw. Thoughts?
