Chinese LED Lights

In the planning stages of a 8' narrow tank (20" deep), mostly LPS, maybe a little SPS.

Thinking of getting 3 Arctic T247s. What do you guys think? Other options you'd recommend that would work well and not break the bank?

I've got 3 of the arctic S026's and it's a bare minimum for my size tank I'd say. 4 would be better. For an 8' I would do 4 minimum.

Thank you for your sharing. How do you like them so far?

I'm coming from two Hydra 52s, so it'll be a "downgrade" but I can't afford to buy two more Hydras so this will have to do.

I will look into getting four of these. Any other fixture options out there that people recommend?

Aquamana makes good fixture. But most Dont agree.. I'm testing it now. One over 75. Not ideal but just to see its max..

I haven't had them long term enough yet to know about reliability but so far I'm very happy with them. Looks like I posted some pictures above how I mounted them in my canopy.

My tank won't have any centre bracing.

It looks interesting. I'll give it some research. How does the light look as far as the output?
Output to me is similar to 2 kesile 150, color is more natural, if you like it blue then there not for you. But when it comes to looks it's more natural and it's bright, I actually started bleaching a softy and had to turn it down.

I used to own a Kessil A150 Ocean blue. I liked it for what its light output/spread and the colour was not bad. Is the COB bluer or whiter than the Ocean blue A150?

How many do you figure I would need for 8' tank?

Its more white. But if I ran two on this tank I could make it more blue... I am testing the limits of it. I had it next to clasic Chinese and it has similar results.. So I'm testing its limits.. When I had it lighting half the tank highest I went was 50%, now that its higher up its 100% color and 90% white

It's this one, right? http://www.amazon.com/AQUAMANA-Spectrum-Aquarium-Lighting-Modules/dp/B00HVMC1WA

Not sure if I will enjoy the whiter look, I like it a bit bluish, but maybe can live with it.

Is the light intensity programmable (sunrise/sunset ramp)?

Finally got my Photn 48 set up last night man I love this light I can't wait to get to the intensity up! Started it at 30% Blues and 25% Whites will go up 10% every week.

Question: Once I get to my 100% intensity when I add coral how far back sould I drop the intensity on the Blues and Whites to acclimate the corals to the new light?

I'm looking at some units on eBay. Other than being able to tell the light when to turn on and off, what does the unit with the timer also provide?

Hey guys. I'm looking for a used 120D to add to my 4. Thought this was a good place to ask. Anyone got one for sale at a good price and willing to ship to Clermont FL?

Can anyone point me in the direction to wiring in an apex plug to control the dimming aspect of these Chinese lights. I bought a reef radiance Prostar 165 and they wired it to be controlled by the apex. I will take it apart if I have to but I'm sure someone has already done so and hopefully has info on how to do it.
Thanks, Larry
