Chinese LED Lights

Finally got my Photn 48 set up last night man I love this light I can't wait to get to the intensity up! Started it at 30% Blues and 25% Whites will go up 10% every week.

Question: Once I get to my 100% intensity when I add coral how far back sould I drop the intensity on the Blues and Whites to acclimate the corals to the new light?
IMHO you will never get this to 100%. Some where on their website they have the suggested or base line ramp time/ acclamation time schedule.

So, I'm looking to light a 40 Breeder and pretty much sold on buying one of the 300w, ramping fixture with controller IT2080 version of these China fixtures that I saw on Facebook ($350). Can someone show me their fixture (same model) and answer my last 3 questions.

1) When transitioning, lets say from 25% to 50% or vice versa, do the LED fire up/down smoothly in between points 1:00:00 pm to 1:30:00 pm. Similar to the Maxspect Razor, which gradually transition from 25% to 50% over the course of the two points? Or, do they switch from 25% @ 1:29:59 pm to 50% @ 1:30:00 pm?

2) Can this model be linked to others, so they all work in unison.

3) Is $350 with shipping too much to pay for this model based on the description:

[Start]

$320 - "300W RAMPING" $320 Shipped (Price Change Sorry)

This is actually over 300W, having 109 3w LEDS! Like the Ramping light above, all 14K whites plus reds, greens and UV. Moon lights are 420nm. Blues are all deep 450nm royal blues. Very nice crisp look. $320 32'' 300w Ramping Led Lights

-3 channels, one is for blue, another is for white, last is for moon light.
-Built in LCD Display Program Controller, control time and control the led intensity.
-Built in Temperature Controller, when the temperature is 45 degrees, the fan will working.
-It can simulate sunrise sunset automatically.
-Include wireless controller, light can be controlled distance 0~10 meter
Channel one:4 red 4 green 4 violet 40 white 14000k
Channel two:52 royal blue
Channel three:5 moon lights
I am waiting on a pic of the layout. Will have it up soon.

[End]

It might sound like I'm asking for too much, the lights are knock offs, possibly, of the Orphek Atlantik Wifi minus all the bells and whistles (a "Wet Dream"). But, if the answers I'm looking for are yes, or even possible, then I'll lean this way.

I run 2 of the 300w ramping lights for my 220 gal tank, the light can do sunrise sunset,3 channels, first channel control whites, second channel control blues, third channel control moonlights, you can set time and set intensity for each of the 3 channels. 10,20,30,40,50 and 60 minute intervals are available, the lights change in 1% increments, set timer and intensity on the touch screen, touch screen is smooth and responsive, programming is super easy, the ramping light works great,I am happy with it.

1>they switch from 25% @ 1:29:59 pm to 50% @ 1:30:00 pm,so from 1:00:00 to 1:29:59 pm,the intensity is 25%.

2>No,they can't,no daisy chain on these lights.

3>They cost me $320 each shipped,I am happy with this price,$370~$390 each shipped on ebay or amazon.

trust you won't go wrong

Sweet tank!

I'll take the gamble... It's not the first nor certainly the last $320-350 that I'll spend in this hobby.

Anyone interested in a Corallife 150w halide with a loud *** fan? Lol

Not a big gamble. I've had 2 original EverGrow IT2080's and an IT 2040 over my 2 DT's since Dec 2012. I've had zero issues and they have done wonderful with my corals. I had 1250w of MH and 120w of t5 before. My best figuring, between electricity (lights, chiller and house A/C) and bulb replacement (t5 evry year and MH every 2 years), I've more than paid for my fixtures in under 2 years.

By gamble, I mean a gamble on support or parts. Light is light, and these pump out tons from what I read and see with my own eyes. The issue lies in support for broken fixtures. Who's to say if these groups will honor warranties?

The silver lining on these is the cost, another can be purchased cheaply, allowing for anyone with DIY skills and a solder iron to swap out bad parts or tweak the fixture. Like swapping out the 4 color diodes to whites.

OceanRevive and ReefBreeders have both been very good with customer support. They both have sponsor forums here at RC so you can see the kind of feed back customers get from the company. ReefRadiance doesn't have a forum here, but they do elsewhere. It's only a gamble if they go out of business, but that's true of any company.

I have had considerable help from the one I deal with because I did a total custom led layout from the manufacturer, EverGrow. They built 24 fixtures with a total of 18 different led layouts for a group buy we did. From the time I placed the order to the finished product being delivered at my house in Florida was 22 days, and that was from Dec 6th to Dec 28th... over the Christmas holiday where they sat in a warehouse in Kentucky for 2 days!

What's the difference between that and the reefbreeder photon lights?

1.Reefbreeder photon 32'' has 99pcs LEDs,the ramping 32'' has 109pcs LEDs

2.Reefbreeder photon 32'' has 30 and 60 minute intervals,the ramping 32'' has 10,20,30,40,50 and 60 minute intervals.

3.Reefbreeder photon 32'' no built in Temperature Controller, the ramping 32'' built in Temperature Controller, when the temperature is 45 degree celsius, the fan will working.

4.Reefbreeder photon 32'' comes with hanging kit and leg,the ramping 32'' only come with hanging kit.

Nothing, are these not all generic IT2080 that Evergrow sells to other companies for rebranding? The claim is that they don't use lower Kelvin whites, all whites are supposed 14k whites.

That freaking sucks, these guys claim 8 shipping from DHL.

You misunderstood my point. Mine were not 'generic' IT2080 fixtures. I ordered 24 fixtures. Each one had to be custom made by hand. And there were 18 different layouts so only 6 fixtures were duplicates. I emailed in the order and 22 days later I had 24 fixtures that were all custom made by hand in China! I couldn't believe they made 24 fixtures and delivered them to me from China in just 22 days! Take 8 days for shipping and a day or two for order processing. They hand made 24 custom fixtures in 12 or 13 days.

Just discovered that the basic model can be mod to work off of an Apex Controller; which opens up full dimmer control on both channels.

The savings on the basic model compensates for the Apex. So, looks like I'll go that route even though there are no moonlights on the basic model. I can always run the blue channel very low.

Hi all, will 3 evergrow D120's be enough for a 220gal (6'×2'×2.5') mixed reef tank?
If so, how high off the tank should I hang them?
I really don't want to hang them and I don't have a canopy, is there a decent tank mount I could buy?

Thanks for any help!

Yes,3 of them will be enough for 220gal (6'×2'×2.5'), need about 14" above the water, you can DIY a canopy.

Where are you buying them from? Can you link me to a tutorial on how to connect these to an Apex

There's a group buy on FB that has models with better spectrum than those on ebay. In that group there is a write up in the files section. The group is Chinese Black Box Proof Club.

The moderator posted the same write up here:

http://www.panhandlereefers.com/for...itboxes-to-0-10v-apex-or-reef-keeper-control/

Also, a guy on here (reef central) attempted the mod and a better write up with better pics here: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2515591

Now, the last link you will read the kid had a problems making it work with Apex because of an issue with the technology of the dimmer.

Apparently there two models, one with pvm(?) and others with analog 0-10v signals. The kid did get it to work.

Lastly, the moderator assured me that is mod works on the fixture with analog signal (group buy), and has heard people having to buy a converter from stevesled.com .
