Just a few photos of the latest additions to my clownfish collection.

I got them in yesterday and so far everything is looking good.

Sorry about the image quality. I need to work on learning to take better pictures.

Nice lil chrys :)

They both have something going on, either from rough handling during capture and transport or parasites (see "scratches" on their head bars).

I would start them on maracyn2 saltwater at double dose right away.

Have copper and Formalin on hand.

clarkiis.....well, not...exactly.

nice looking chrysopterus there!

That's what I was thinking also. I've kept lots of different clowns but this is my first pair of chrysopterus.

Thanks Marina. I noticed that and have already started the treatment. Sorry for the pictures. Up close it looks like they got a little beat up during shipping or collection.

I've been doing a lot of reading about the chrysopterus the last few months and I made sure I had all the medications on hand when I ordered them. I was really expecting the worst when I got them, but so far they have really surprised me. They have been active ever since I got them, no heavy breathing, and they don't freak out when I get around the tank.

The largest one is about 3 1/2" and the other is about 3". Right now they are in a 45 gallon quarantine tank. If everything works out allright in about 6 to 8 weeks they will move into their own 100 gallon tank (60"x18"x21").

Very nice pair, what are they eating?

So far everything I put in the tank. :D They act like little pigs. So far I've tried Formula 1 and 2, brine shrimp, and choped clams.

When you move them to the broodstock tank, make sure there is nothing they can get wedged into, under, etc. If they have a freak out, that is a sure way to lose them.

Start feeding by hand if at all possible. The more trust you build in them the better.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the suggestions. I had planed on using some 3" and 4" PVC to make some caves in the tank for them. I know it's not real pretty, but it makes for easier cleaning.

This morning they both still seem to be doing fine. This pair acts a lot differently than what I had been expecting. They swim everywhere together. When I came in the hatchery this moring they were in a piece of 4" PVC together. They don't freak out and dash all over the tank when I get close to it.

Overall I'm very happy with what I got, I just wish they had some more in stock, but these seem to have been the last two, but I've got another surprise comming next week.
