Chronicle of my 180g Aquarium

This thread has almost as much readings as the Aquatronica thread! What the hell did Psyire put in here, Im not wading through all the pages to find it but I suspect some hidden Porn Pictures are in here somewhere :D
Jesus did I say Porn, I think the Mods all have the P word listed in there Favorites filter, that's going to add even more Reads to this thread LOL

Here's a pic of mine in the mean time...

Well I don't have any pics like that but the one above is exactly the same. How big is that foxface Tangman?

Psyire,

My foxface is about 4.5" tip to tip... Even after 6 months, he still gets scared easily by anyone near the tank and switches to night colors... Does yours behave this way as well?

Yeah mine is fairly skittish still. He was worse when he was the only 'bigger' fish in the tank. Now that I have some tangs he's better, not nearly as scared.

Mine's a full 5" tip to tip.

Yep there a lot like Pretty Women, really nice to look at, but don't touch or you'll end up in Pain.

I claim a 'small' victory today...

If you've been following my thread about getting my Blue Throat Trigger to eat, then you'll probably know what I'm talking about.

I got him to eat 4 'small' chunks of Alaskan King Crab today, so I'm 'a bit' relieved but it seems I've got aways to go yet.

Pretty much everything else is on hold until I get this guy eating. (Coupled with the fact I'm in the middle of my stretch of 7x 12hr nightshifts)

BTT Thread: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=800464

I'd love to get a Blue Throat but I'm a bit worried as they can be agreesive and get pretty large. How big do they get?

Hi Nexdog,
Bluethroat triggers are part of the Xanthicthys species of triggers. These triggers are by far the most reef-safe triggers you can keep. The bluethroat is the smallest of the species, only attaining ~9". They are not aggressive at all.

Yeah, he ran me $150 CDN. (but then again everything is more expensive up here in the middle of nowhere)

From my BTT Feeding thread:
-------------------------------------
YES!

A large victory today! He ate a mixture of krill, mysis, plankton & cyclopeeze. However it had to be delivered via. the turkey baster. I'm thinking he's starting to dig this turkey baster as he isn't shying away from it at all. He comes right out and starts biting at the end. He's still not eating the food out of the water column yet, but this is a good start.

I'm happy to have got quite abit into his stomach today. He ate fairly well. He won't touch the food coming out of the baster if he dosen't get it 'right away'. If it happens to float down below him or behind him, he won't go after it. He just heads back to the baster. He seems to be most interested in the food moving inside the baster as I gently 'pulse' it to get it to come out.

I'd also like to point out that I witnessed him 'gulping' or trying to eat things in the water column while he was swimming around.

I plan to continue updating this thread with my trigger feeding adventure incase sometime down the road someone else has the same problem.

I'm very happy he's eating!
