Cirrhilabrus sp. aggression- Wrasse help?

Hello All, I am looking for some wrasse experiences with some of the species in the genius Cirrhilabrus

I currently have a 3inch Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis (golden rhomboid), 4 inch chevron and 3 inch red tail tamarin wrasse in a 56x34x24 tank, its 197g.
The golden has not showed any aggression towards any of its tank mates. I would like to add one of these two Cirrh.
-1) a bathyphilus (hooded)
or
-2) scottorum (Scotts / prob from Aussy)

I used the search button and read some :P about all i could find is that the Scotts could be more aggressive. Need some back up here
I do not wanna a battle to ensue that cannot be solved. Any suggestions?

I don't have a Scotts but I do have a rhomboid. From what I have read the Scotts can be aggressive with other fairies and with the rhomboid having a similar body shape I'd worry about the two getting along. My rhomboid is mellow but I have a lineatus that rules the tank. Hopefully somebody with experiencing keeping them together will chime in. If you do try it I'd highly suggest introducing the Scotts using and acclimation box.

i have a 5inh scotts in a 300 & he is very aggressive towards all my other wrasses so if i was you i would stay away from them you might have a better luck with the hooded

The Scotts do tend to be aggressive. But each individual fish is different. For this reason, anytime a new wrasse is added to the tank from here out, I would use an acclimation box to get everyone used to the newcomer and to preview any potential aggression.

FWIW, my experience is the opposite of the above posters. My lineatus is extremely passive, while my rhomboid is much more the aggressor. I also have exquisite and labouti.

I have been very lucky with Scott's fairy behavior all ( 7) of them are been very timid and they are very hardy, probably its been under estimate how beautiful this wrasse is compare to other fairy wrasse.many people claim its aggressive but I never had one that is aggressive ever.if you can find the one from cooks island variant that is probably the most colorful.

Hooded are very beautiful too and from what I heard they are not aggressive at all.Rhomboid are very peaceful so this will work also

Why not get both?

Agree with all the advice you've been given.

The hooded will be fine, but personally I'd pass on the Scott's. However, you might be able to make it work.

Regardless, use an acclimation box for any new wrasse addition.

There is a big difference between 400+ gallons and 200 gallons when it comes to aggression. I'd pass on the Scott's.

Just came across this thread in a search. How did you make out with your hooded if you got one? Ppl posted they shouldn't be aggressive but mine is sitting in the bad fish box for being a jerk to my pencil and other fairies
