clam regrow foot/ fast???

ludiNano

I'm becoming...Brundlefly
i just moved my 4-5'' squami to my upgrade and he fell over trying to move and left foot behind, a big oll chunk of it thought it was some nudi with the string like apendages.

Then a week later i added a 1-2'' crocea, and it move off sm. rock it was atached to and left foot behind aswell. ( didn't fall more just moved over to crevis.

And know a week later ( 2 weeks for squami and 1week for crocea)

Both have regrown foot already.

Is this speedy regrowth normal, is it a good sign?

most likely only the byssal thread with a little bit of flesh attached. the clam can drop its byssal thread to move with no ill effects and the large clams can even drop their foot when they no longer need it. if they have already reattached then they still have their foot, we usually just can see it because it is inside the clams shell.

my clam lost its foot the threads and a big fleshy chunc of white meat. it hasnt had a foot for 3 to4 weeks now. i can just pick it up and move it at any time. where the threadsand mfoot was is now a slick white area. the clam opens fine and looks good . will it ever get a new foot and threads?
