Hi my clown fish has developed a furry type growth its raised, white and when you catch in on an angle it looks almost like really fine hairs, could this be some kind of a fungi, what is my best course of action?

Hes eating perfectly he has no other problems.

Thanks.

I thinks it lympohcytis, it looks similar to the so in that case ot will have to ride it out as i dont believe there is a cure it just appears then disappears. You have to make it has a good diet.

Sounds like Brooklynella, you have the ability to move the fish to a QT tank? Few medication options if you google search brooklynella.

You can also try feeding it food soaked in garlic.

I had a clown fish that seemed to be disease prone - it kept developing what looked like bubble algae growing on it. Don't know if it was related, but feeding it food dosed in garlic would result in the fish getting healthy again -- then a few months later it would get sick again. It eventually died.. but the garlic seemed to help it for a while.

I'd check out fungus as well as its a bigger problem than lymph. The latter is sometimes called cauliflower disease as it can resemble them but I've not seen it look like little hairs before, which is more how I'd describe fungus tbh.
If it's too speedy for pictures could you do a quick video as that may help.

Hi thanks for your reply I was actually soak their food in guarlic guard for a while and i never had a problem then was told long term use would cause liver damage, so i stopped.

Ive looked at brook pics and mmmmm i dont know but it doesnt have any other symptons of brook.

I see your in the uk and we don't have the wide variety of good med over here but esha oodinex, waterlife protozine or similar should help if it's needed. The first is reportedly reef safe but I'd take that with caution.
