I thought the chrysopterus only had 2 stripes(defining factor)?..reason for me suggesting a hybrid of some sort. Please educate me though! :thumbsup:
 
The last pic looks like a Solomon Island Clarki.
I would lean towards chrysopterus on the first ones.
 
I told myself I wouldn't buy another pair of clowns unless it's was something like leucokranus or Latezonatus but these mysterious clowns are very tempting.
 
If I had the space I would take them.

In the past I would just set up another tank, but that was a slippery slope and I ended up with more than 20 tanks - not counting larvae and grow out tanks for the offspring.

Ok so I saw the clowns again. Now they are labeled as Blue Stripes at the store and their third white stripe is minimal. It will go away.
 
Looks like they have also a nice collection of giganteas. How much do they charge for those.

As for the fish - a formalin bath followed by antibiotics treatment may fix them. Though I would try to get them cheaper due to them being sick.

They have a bunch of Haddonis. Some looked like Martensii but I checked their underskirts and none had spots. I didn't check all of them though. Pricing ranges $45-$100 depending on size and color.
The store doesn't reduce the price on sick fish. They take their chances on either selling it to an unsuspecting customer or fish healing on its own. At least that's their take on it. However the clowns were only $29 each.
 
At that price I would have taken a chance - if I had any space left.
I already passed on a pair of Forcipiger and some cute little C. loricula. Only a cute little onyx percula I couldn't leave at the store.

It's hard to resist them, isn't it? Fish store nearby has a mean mean female platinum clown from ORA. She killed her mate. The clown bites the hand that feeds her. She's so mean she's cute. I almost took her home today. Ideally I'd like to avoid percula and Ocellaris for my next pair. Time for me to get out of the box. Haha. That's why I seriously considered the blue stripes.
 
This onyx was unfortunately not a wild one, but rather one from Bali Aquarich. It has precisely the coloration of the big female in my avatar (which is why I took it despite being tank raised and of uncertain lineage), yet it is just slightly over an inch in length.

As for the bluestripe clowns - I would give them a shot if I hadn't already seriously overstretched the goodwill of my wife: the living room looks more like a fish store these days and one balcony is full of tubs with my tigger pod cultures. If I add one more tank I may have to share the backyard with the raccoons :hmm6:
