Clownfish bothering anemone

I purchased a RBTA about 2 months ago and my maroon just found it about a week or two ago. The anemone is open but it looks sort of like a carpet anemone now than a bta. My parameters are fine except for a recent spike caused by a fish death. My tank has been up for 1 year 2 months. The maroon is still a juvenile but he is longer than the anemone which is about an inch and a half in diameter. What should I do? Should I get rid of the maroon which was a mastake buying?

your anemone should actually be about 3 times bigger than the clown to small of an anemone and the clown can actually kill it.

Place a strawberry basket over the nem and spot feed some mysis or similar until it gets bigger, or your clown will love it to death.
Agree, nem should be at least 3x the size of your clowns.

All of the above suggestions are spot on. My other suggestion would be to get another RBTA that's bigger. You can sell the small one or keep it, and hope that the maroon uses the bigger one as the host. Maroons in general are one of the most aggressive clowns, and will definitely beat up a small RBTA. They're also extremely territorial, which makes it even tougher on the nem since the constant darting in an out won't allow a small nem to recover, and may even disrupt its feeding behavior.

Exactly correct.
