Collinrb's 90Gal Mixed Reef

Well I felt like the 90 finally needed a re-do. I was losing interest in it pending the upcoming basement sump addition, and with the bc29 going up. Well that little thing is finally running smooth and clear. So back to the 90, I did a TON of re-arranging and have a whole new plan for this tank. ALL Euphyllia with mushrooms and gorgonians stuck in between.

Here's a FTS from two days ago

Here's that sprial wire that everyone liked, and is now getting fairly large.

And here's just a fun one with our gold torch and bubble coral

I haven't updated this bad boy in FOREVER!
Here's the short story: I went along with my re-do and new tank focus. Kinda
(excuse the blurry pics, camera was about to die on me (haven't charged it from the trip)

Here's the details:
-Basement sump went in, and I had microbubbles, lots of em, and couldn't figure out why. It turned out I needed to move my return pump a bit, and that solved the problem outright. But almost two weeks of microbubbles, sure did a number on the stress levels of fish...

-While on my trip we lost the Chevron Tang (saddest loss in my reef to date)
-Jawfish has developed popeye (Wasn't expected to be alive when I got home, but he's been in qt for 5 days now still kicking!)
-Lost all Anthias
-Photons treated and returned to tank (they were in qt while I was gone)
-Tank as of now (Thanksgiving 2013) looks back in business
-Added an Avast Kalk Stirrer (Thanks Pat!)
-New idea for fish is a harem of wrasse. I don't know what species yet, but I want a male and 3-5 females
-Large LPS will now fill the sandbed between the two structures

Last but not least, I'm trying to KILL (no longer remove) my sally lightfoot crab. DO NOT BUY one of these guys. He grew to about 6" leg tip to leg tip in 2-3 months and now tries to grab anything that moves by him. Luckily he's got tiny arms and claws. But I want him GONE. So when you see that bottle in the bottom corner, its his deathbed. If he ever goes inside it while I'm still there haha

Isn't that the one I asked you about any you said he was a model citizen? LOL Sorry bro, had to bust your stones a little. :spin2:
Sorry to hear about your Chevron Tang and all your Anthias. That sucks big time, I feel your pain. I just lost my Yellow Eye Kole Tang a few days ago to ICH. All my fish are in QT and I'm gonna go fallow for 12 weeks.
Good luck brotha!

We got him!!! Sally Lightfoot is now an in sump resident. Thanks to the giant goby and fire shrimp kicking him out of his home, found him on the other side where I can move the rocks around. Spelled his end.

Jawfish can FINALLY go back into his home, to heal up and more importantly eat up some more. His eye looks much better, and I am keeping my fingers crossed for a full recovery!

Added ANOTHER tank to the system. I recently grabbed Trump's 15gal with coast to coast overflow. Tore down the Biocube in the bedroom yesterday and grabbed out my bubble tip anenomes, and phantom clown pair.

This brings the system just below 150gallons. I'll be adding a second 100g rubbermaid, another 90g tank, and I still need to keep my eyes on my 60 hex to go in as well. Look out Chriskid, I'm coming for ya haha

Added in an EB8 to the basement, a new ATO container, and a pm2 salinity probe to the tank today. hellooo stability

More updates!

Lost one of our phantom clowns to bullying by the other. moved the remaining up, and what do ya know. we now have a trio of clowns

I also dropped in a lavender tang today.

With the clown tank empty, it gave saltychick a chance to fill it. she came home with a HUGE angler fish that now lives in my 15gal

PM sent. That would be a very nice upgrade to the closed loop, altough I'd def be throttling it back some haha

Wow I guess I've abandoned this haven't I? Well time to get it going again. I'll add some new pics in this afternoon, but here are some text updates

Fish list:
pair of large yellow watchman gobies (My personal favorite)
pair of midnight photon clowns that have recently started to host my squamosa clam
lone phantom clown that stays up in the gorgonians
solorensis wrasse
banggai cardinal
and my most recent addition, a Doctor tang (thanks trigger for the ID)

I've also added a 50g frag tank to the basement. It has a 1200gph closed loop for flow, and is pumped by my main return. It is lit by 2 175w Metal Halides

Like I said I have quite a few pics to throw up, but I'm going to get them on the computer and not put them trough taptalk
