I was thinking about getting this skimmer:

can anyone give me some advice on it, and if it would be okay in a 46g system (even though the max says 40) with a low bioload?

It is obsolete and has been replaced by 9002, they haven't been made in at least 6 months. Not a whole lot of difference really, the 9002 has a slightly bigger pump and it is black instead of brown. Honestly, I would get the Nano Reefpack 200.
