What were the breeding results for you? I would love to see pictures. ........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

:D

More info:
After 5 years, the juvenile black ocellaris clown dominated/murdered the breeding clownfish male. I suppose it happens in nature, but when they are pets it is more upsetting. I have heard that the breeding mentioned results in dull orange, but I wonder if the results encountered were just juveniles. It took about 5 years before my juvenile male lost the dull orange around his mouth. He had not completely developed the center stripe when I found him. Thoughts anyone.,.... about the breeding results of this combination of the same species?

Ah yes, the million dollar question :) Here's a link to a thread on it (hope this is legal, if not my apologies): http://www.marinebreeder.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=3203

It appears that all crosses of this type previously have resulted in normal orange looking ocellaris. What happens when you breed those F1s together is not yet known, at least not as far as I know.

Odd to think that a black coloration trait to be a recessive trait (since there are no black F1). Usually "dark traits" are dominant.

I suspect that a cross of the F1 will probably result in a tradition Mendelian F2 ratio of 3:1. I guess I have to get myself a black ocellaris and try to cross them myself ;)
