My 2$, it seems to be working the way it is, why mess with a good thing? Looks happy, leave it be. The last thing you want is to find it shredded in your most powerful pump because it wandered as a result of a flow change.

I'm at 1.5 years with a Mag under DIY LEDs. Has grown from 6" to around 16-18" over that time under LEDs. Tank is powered by 1xMP60 and 2 MP40s.

I've had mine under LED for around 6 months. It was in another tank before I had it for 3 months that had metal halide. Mine has doubled in size the past 6 months. Flow for mine is gentle current. See video:

Ok so I went ahead and moved 1 power head and it made a big change . The ritteri is now
extends its self like it did when I first got it and the clowns look much happier now that there is not so much current looks so much better to me I took to video and 2 pictures tell me what you think .

I see that a lot of people have alternating Flow and I am trying to find a Used pulsating control for my power heads so I can get that kind of flow

Thank you . That is what is was hoping for . I might go pick up a JBJ Ocean Pulse - QUADRA Wavemake to help with a mix Flow . Do you know if i can Hook my Main Return pump up to it . Or is this a mad idea

Get something that was designed specifically for a particular propeller water pump/powerhead. The Koralia controllable pump/controller, Coralife or Vortech will all work well. I wouldn't hook up a standard propeller pump/powerhead and especially not a magnetic drive circulation water pump coming off the sump to a controller. Any time you hook a after market controller to pumps designed for continuous on running you will shorten the life of the pump, considerably. There are other devices for getting alternating flow or sweeping motion from a main system circulation pump, controllers aren't one of them.

Tunze 1073.05 is controllable, but a bit pricey for a 900gph return. Good for tanks with not much real estate in tank for powerheads though. Unfortunately you would probably need two of them in order to get the ideal flow pattern though.

The difference is the type of flow. What you're looking at in the video is a large, wide flow that causes things to move back and forth as a single body. This is in contrast to direct, narrow flow, which we see from our powerheads, which tend to push a lot of flow in one small area.
It's like when you were a kid and you were playing in the bath tub, and you pushed yourself back and forth until this big wave started to form. This is in contrast to the water that was filling the tub, which comes out in a narrow stream. Both have energy, both can move objects, but it's in a different fashion.
Anemones need this wide flow, which allow it to "sway" back and forth, not a narrow flow that tends to have them whipping in the current.
