Well what happened lol? I just got one yesterday that looks like death warmed over

Well, its not dead (sounds like a Monty Python sketch 
)! But it is still not fully recovered - still deflating every now and then and spitting out black slimy chunks. I am off on a week long business trip on Sunday, so no opportunity to do a third round of Cipro, so I am going to move it into my observation/QT tank (setup as a full reef tank) and will see how it does.
If it dies while I am away, I wonder if I will be able to convince my wife to fish it out?

I ended up doing 3 rounds on this guy. Till about 4 days before the last treatment was spitting out small black rat poop looking chunks.
So is the strategy to continue the antibiotic treatment until the deflation/pooping cycle stops?
Well, that is a good question. I have treated mags before and a single course was sufficient. In this particular case, I have done two and the anemone is still doing the inflate/deflate cycle - looks good in the morning but flattens out in the late-afternoon. At this point I am not sure why another round would be useful (something about fools and expecting different results from the same actions .....), plus I am off for business for a week, so no opportunity to try a third round. I was thinking of putting it into one of my inhabited QT tanks, but think I will leave it in the HT because if it does die it may take down the QT without me home to intervene.

Where are you getting the cipro?
As I suspected, got home from my trip and this Mag was in really bad shape and has now died. Too bad! Two rounds of cipro not enough. Strange, because it didn't look that bad initially. Now for the weird thing ....
When I bought this mag I began exploring a new home for my existing one which has grown too large for my current tank and was wandering. Just as a pesky fly disappears as soon as you reach for the swatter, this Mag hasn't moved an inch since I got its potential replacement and was exploring re-homing. Within an hour of proclaiming my new Mag toast, the old guy is on the move again. I leave you to draw your own conclusions ..... in the Twilight Zone! Dee dee dee dee, dee dee dee dee ....
