Cool Fish on Diver's Den

Anyone have issues with DD fish showing up with lymph? I'm talking right out of the bag. Had 3 different angels arrive that way. Certainly not going to complain about the regal eating flakes and pellets right out of the bag, but has lymph all over the fins. Had two more angels arrive that way around Christmas time, cleared up after a couple of months but again it was pretty widespread right out of the bag.

Stress from shipping? Something else?

There were some very large white spots on the fins of 3 Pyramid Butterflyfish I ordered a while back. It was right out of the bag and it didn't look like ich but perhaps it was lymph. However, they did go away over time.

I have a semilarvatus arrive 2 days ago with lymph. I am going to notify them. They should not be selling fish with lymph.

Just sent the email. will follow up.
I think I might have to post this in the sponsor reviews section, so you might have to go there to see the response.

Please do add your concerns so they will see that I am not the only one with the issue.

Let me know what they say.

I also emailed them just to give them a heads up, not looking for anything in return but I think they need to know. I'm sure it isn't intentional and might not manifest itself until the stress from shipping occurs. Also haven't had that issue with regular live aquaria fish, just DD. I've purchased roughly a dozen divers den fish and only had two not make it through the guarantee period. The rest are still alive and well so I'm happy with the product.

I don't know how soon before shipping they take the pictures, but I always save the high res version of anything I purchase. Looked fine in the pictures. A small spot here and there is one thing, but this is everywhere.

What did they say? They basically told me to give it some time and keep in quarantine. They are already in quarantine. Problem is its not eating.

IMO Diver's Den= generally better health, often eating, but have lympho (recent purchases)
Liveaquaria= sometimes poor health, often not eating, no lympho

Looks they have lympho in their holding system.

They requested that I send them a picture so they could forward it to their specialists for further review, and they would contact me with the results.

Whatever that means.

I've had lymph a few time on fish from both LA and DD. In all cases it went away with proper acclimation and feeding.

I've never had lymphocytosis from DD or LA but I've bought fish from my LFS knowing it was present. It's thought to be viral and has always resolved on it's own when the fish is settled in, eating well and not bullied. Not something I fret about at all.

Agreed they should be transparent in their pics/advertising. I'd buy it if they marked it blemish and lowered the price! :)

The HLLE will fade with good nutrition, although if it's really severe, it'll still have scars. The hole in the fin will heal real fast. None of those are deal breakers. The price however? Ridiculous for a fish that isn't completely healthy. That fish goes for $300 on Zoacollector, and I'm sure if you asked around you could get it even cheaper.

Those issues are deabreakers when the point of DD is to get well conditioned, healthy fish for a premium price. People would be all over petco or some LFS for selling fish with lymph, HLLE, etc. Major decline in the quality of DD fish recently.

I spent a month looking for a premium pair of clowns and Diver's Den was one of my frequent look outs for them. I was truly shocked by the the type of facial deformities some of the "USA bred" clowns had. Even the Bali Aquarich ones didn't look so great, but some say their quality has gone down anyway. Still, Diver's Den has been the place I purchase most of my fish, so I'm a little sad quality has declined since I started doing business with them many years ago. I hope they pull it together soon.

They told me there was no scarring on the head or lateral line, but to keep an eye on the tail. Seems like an odd response when all I was doing was bringing the lymph to their attention.

I was zooming in on some of the pictures they've posted recently and it's actually pretty widespread. Buyer beware I guess.
