Copper sesnsitive fish treatment for ick

When purchasing copper sensitive fish I want to quarantine fish to make sure I don't get ick in one of my display reef tanks. Will ick die in bare bottom hospital without copper after a period of time? Can't find any info to support this theory and don't want to assume and end up with ick back in displays already when for 90 days without fish to get rid of ick and definitely don't want to go thru that again.

Ick will die with out a host fish in the tank after a period of time, most say as long as 76 days.

For copper sensitive fish I use chloroquine phosphate.

Depends on what fish you're specifically talking about. I hate copper and only use Chloroquine Phosphate to treat fish for ich/velvet. Some wrasse, all pipefish and anthias don't fair well in it though

I like hypo salinity for ich. No repeated capturing stress, like with ttm. Lowered salinity also has the benefit of making fish's work of osmoregulation easier. Plus, with no expensive medications to buy, it's cheaper.
