Coral Tank from Canada (1350gal Display Tank) - split

My heart just dropped through the floor: I hate snow so much and am more thant glad to give up good cars and the tank for that year round

alas my wife is a home body so its the flat part of frozen Ohio for me
cooker hot summer and bitter winter the best of both worlds oh and toss in a twister or two as well

You have some great cars, a house, to die for, and an aquarium setup that is the envy of every reeffer. But if you ever get tired of all that snow come on down
I'll even let you feed the fish so you don't get homesick.

Gee, captngreg, how much more does it cost for a condo on the nude beach?

I don't what to hijack Peter thread .
But my guess is about 25% of what Peter has spent on this tank!

We had dinner on our balcony a couple of years back and had the lovely view of a meth lab exploding a few blocks away.....can I hijack your thread too?

Nvm, I guess that question would be retorical by now. :)

Now that's just not right at all, but in a good way.

I'd saythat's a big tank if you've got room for a beach and people in it. Peter he's out done you and probably the rest of us combined:debi:

Whew - months of reading on and off but I did it - every post - from the crane to the Apex! Let me add my voice to the chorus of praise - what an accomplishment. I am most impressed by the amount of not just effort, but heart and soul that has been put in to this reef environment (to call it a tank is an injustice). The uncompromising standards and commitment not only to best practice, but sharing that best practice in such a positive and constructive community is an accomplishment of the highest caliber. I look forward to following the continued evolution of the reef and much more learning from your team.

Now where is that video of the fish room girl audition? :lol2:

I have a stack of applications here somewhere........still no successful candidate ........yet!!!

First up, well done for wading through all that material. This community thanks you for your perseverance and praise. I do believe the framework of best practices has had a materially positive impact on this build. Welcome to our community.......

Thank you for your support and encouragement.

Peter

Well that design looks familiar!!

That's the thing about best practices Stevie, there's something about them that feels just right.........a journey thats worth pursuing again and again and again!!!! :hammer::lolspin::hammer:

Hi Peter. Your tank is one that inspired my 320 SPS build and I appreciate your contributions and videos. I am glad that you are moving into the Apex. I have quite a complex set up and it has been solid for several years. I work as a System Engineer for a global company so please let me know if you need any help with the set-up. You can view my graphs, configuration and source code realtime@ http://www.reeftronics.net/tdb/apex-status. There are several best practices like the utilization of virtual ports and naming conventions.

On the AEFW note there is a new product that claims to get the AEFW eggs. Reefers locally are testing it. It is called RPS ALL OUT Dip and apparently has some type of aloe Vera composition that penetrates the membrane of the eggs killing the FW fetus. I don’t think AEFW will destroy your SPS as I have read that the corals eventually build up and immunity but eradicating them will be a challenge. Perhaps you can get frags of all of your colonies once the SPS quarantine system is in place.

Best Regards, Tom

That's a great offer Tom. Your graphs alone are good for comparing our profiles. Peter already spotted a bad heater by noting the graph difference between two heaters in two separate tanks.

We will turn to you when we get there.
