this clearly isn't working. I think the RC forum software is not allowing HTML to be used in the signature file so I can't bring the proper syntax to make the link work. Any ideas, suggestions would be appreciated.

Peter

Dave.M where are you when we need you......????

Sleepin', boss, aw's jes' sleepin' in de heat.

At the bottom of RC's Edit Signature form you will probably see something like the following:

Signature Permissions <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="2"><tbody><tr><td class="smallfont" style="padding-right: 10px" valign="top" nowrap="nowrap"> Allow BB Code No
Allow HTML No
</td> <td class="smallfont" valign="top" nowrap="nowrap"> Allow Smilies No
Can Upload Images for Signature No
Can Upload Animated GIF for Signature No
</td></tr></tbody></table>
I suspect this is all part of a standard profile that RC uses for everyone. Your previous statement that you suspected RC was preventing you from posting the link in your Signature is quite correct.

However, I could, if you like, add the slide show to a certain Gallery page elsewhere ...

Yup, again you are right. The slide show could be on an obvious prominent place and that would be a good launch pad announcement but the challenge remains......how can we make a link easy to find no matter when you step into the thread. I thought that putting it in my sig would work but alas. .... Would the 'new' location work somehow better in the sig file???

I try and feed the tank once a day with Reef Roids, Decapsulated shrimp eggs, Cyclopeeze and phytoplankton

Hi Peter, if I have read this right you are feeding manually. Are there any plans in the future to dose certain coral foods automatically? Did Mr Wilson get any further with his plans for the phyto farm?
Amazing photos and slide show, it is astounding what you and your team have achieved in such a short period.

When that most holy time dost approacheth ...

MY RC - Edit Your Details - Home Page URL:

Here you would enter the URL of your page. No tags required. Just www.your_site_name.com or whatever.

Once this is saved, anyone who clicks on your user name in the left column will see a list of your approved contact methods plus a link to Visit nineball's homepage!

Before you get there, I should remind you that none of my last set of queries has been resolved, so that there is much left to be done. However, your slide show is now in the Galleries section.

Thanks Dave. I will have a chat with Mr. Wilson on the outstanding info tomorrow. I do realize there is more fine tuning but I do feel we are getting closer to our goal.
I understand the info and I will follow them at the appointed time. Aaand I can sleep better knowing you are out there fighting the good fight on behalf of Team Nineball.

Thanks d3hree and yes you are right, I am currently feeding the tank manually. It is taking a fair whack of time each day and I was fully expecting that this would be the case when I started the build from the outset. I wanted to know and understand the behaviours of all the animals in the tank with respect to food and nutritional requirements and the best way to accomplish this is to go slow and manual. I also believed that for the first year the tank environment would probably require excess amounts of food until some form of bacterial stability formed in concert with a maturing tank. After that my plan was, and still is, to build an automated system to deliver the same nutritional value that I was able to accomplish manually. Mr. Wilson and I will be obsessing about the best methods to accomplish this in the very near future. So stay tuned for a lot more on this subject.

Of course, you could always just post the URL as you have it now without the tags, in the place where you have it now with a title like

"Current Slide Show: http://albums.phanfare.com/slideshow.aspx?i=1&db=1&pw=ZFJtjR5w&a_id=5145021"

and leave it up to the user to copy and paste it into a new tab on their browser. That should be well within the reach of most people here, I should think.

I was thinking the same thing.

I have been following your build since December and have learned plenty. Thank you for the time your team puts into spreading your knowledge on RC.

Peter...in your user control panel there is an option to add a url for your home page.
Can you simply add the slide show url to that?...then where ever you post the users like myself can click on your user name and click on visit home page to be presented with the slide show.

Your sig can then be just a simple instruction..."click on my home page for photographic slideshow"

Edit: just done it with my home page and it works. Now if you click on my user name and visit my homepage you are presented with Peter's slide show....I shall leave it like that for 5 mins so I can pretend it's my tank!

Your coral will love the full LED's and youll love the blue!!! I have been running my system now for over a year on full LED's with no problems, sometimes to much light, but thats no a problem cause you can always turn them down...
Very nice system and good luck with it.

works perfectly Peter. I will remove it from my homepage...unless you want to share?..:spin2:

Thanks again and you are more than welcome to use it. Most of the thread longtermers figure it belongs to them so you might as well join the group.

Thank you very much tynman, I do enjoy the blue very much.....its almost like having a second reef. I think I am about three weeks from the MH LED changeover............

You may consider yourself a "novice" photographer, but I can't see how those pics can get any better!!!!

mark

Thanks Spirofucci, you are waaaay too generous but I do admit that I am enjoying the picture taking a lot more now than when I started this whole journey. I'm looking forward to the next seminar on taking pictures under the blue lights.........
