Costa Rica (high load warning)

I saw some awesome toucans and other aviary animals but getting shots of them was not always successful.

This one baby fell 20 feet to the ground and was fine, then climbed back up and I was able to get close. The primate group had been following this group for a while and even though he was on his mothers back when we got there initially, towards the end of our stay the young capuchin was being taught to climb on his own.

We had a herpetologist with us for 3 days and he felt crazy enough to pick up a fer-de-lance for investigation. It was really aggressive and I kept my distance.

Further east in the West Indies many young boys run around with broken front teeth caused by biting the skin off sugar cane. You wouldn't think it being as hard as it is by just looking at it.

Christine there are plenty of places to go in Costa Rica that will offer a very nice stay. I'd suggest setting up a little tour and stay at a few different areas, they can be so different. If you go you gotta check out the sky trek zip lines in the cloud forest. that was quite a thrill. ohhhh and the tobacan hot springs, its a steaming creek heated by a volcano, very romantic for a honeymoon.
man, now i want to go back!

not to sound morbid or too political , and I know your too young to know but it sounds like what you experienced (with the heat, humidity and rain ) is exactly what the Vietnam vets went through, only they were under a higher stress level.
I wish Everyone could go through that to appreciate what they went through for the country even though it was another political screw up.

Very cool pics! Wow, poisonous snakes and spiders, high heat/humidity, bugs big enough to require air traffic control, add the monkeys and it sounds like a summer in Louisiana!
