On possibly the worst night of the year, for the price of a few high end, hard to obtain IPAs, the tank exchange and new build begins!

Tim, Bob, and Eric from ABC Reefs braved the elements to make it happen.

Out with the old 6 cylinder with PVC headers

Rimless 15mm Starphire SCA 120 drilled for Synergy Reef Ghost overflow. Top quality beveled glass and heavy as frozen feces.

Plenty of upgrades and equipment to come. Most of it here but not ready for its photo debut. Stay thirsty my friends!

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?!?!??

Great looking tank Mark. Lets keep those pictures coming. I'm waiting to see what kind of scape you come up with!

Oh and the weather looks normal for Cuse doesn't it ;)? Hope its better Saturday I have to make the drive up for my light system Tim special ordered.

Ok ok some equipment porn

I'm having shoulder surgery so I have to get a lot done in the next week! Gotta get everything plumbed and aquascaped. Hopefully have water in it by mid week.

I hear you. Believe me. But I have this beautiful furniture quality stand and canopy from Joe Aquisto aka JOESWOODWORKS in Buffalo. I just wanted a quality glass box to go in there. It ended up being a beautiful beveled glass rimless jewel. Tugs at ones heart strings for sure.

I think that qualifies as a white people problem.

epic!

epic!

Very nice in many ways! Kudos to thirsty helpers!
Great choices in equipment.
If you don't want a hood you might want to check out some of the Reefbrite MH/LED combos that clamp onto the back side of the aquarium...
they give free access all the way around the perimeter of the aquarium.
Tell Tullio I sent ya!

I like the canopy as it contains the spread of light. Personal tastes.

I've spoken with Tullio at length which is why I'm going T5 and keeping the Radions for mainly supplemental purposes.

They have a good relationship. He usually comes to their swaps. And SPS? C'mon Gary....no matter what I start out telling myself, I always end up with SPS. I was really happy with the way my last tank was going. Is what it is.

Installed the Synergy today. It's the newer molded model called the Shadow.
