*d2mini's new 200g Reeftastic Build*

I think that you are ready to quit your main job and start setting up dream reef setups for the rich and famous of this world. Mr. Saltwater tank must be shaking in his boots. If I had a million dollars I'd fly you over to Canada and we'd build a tank they'd sing legends of decades later.

haha, thanks. :D

I can picture Dennis walking into this room with nurse gear on. Don't want to infect anything....
If you're picturing me in this...
I'm going to have to de-friend you. :hmm6: ;)

Hi Dennis,

Where do you have your RO and salt water buckets?
Outside the Fishroom?

Your project is great and a big inspiration for me. I'm starting something like that. Best Regards.

Thanks! Yes, the same mixing station I had previously is up against the wall on the outside of the room, exactly where it was before.
I have some holes drilled in the wall to allow passage of the water lines, and now another one to get the power cables from pumps to my controller.

Super nice Dennis. It is a well put together system.
Thanks! :)

Hi dennis, congrats on that tank, I always had to ask you how do you get that coraline algae so fast, i had my tank for 2 years and only so little coraline algae, parameters are perfect? Also i wanted to ask what is so beneficial of having a mangrove?

haha, thanks. :D

I grow them mainly for fun.
They grow too slow to export nutrients much. :)
The coralline... your guess is as good as mine. Grows like crazy and sucks up tons of alk and calcium!

Dennis

Very sorry if I have missed it, but what ATO are you using? The profilux? If so, Optical or Float sensors?

Thanks!

Yep, the Profilux. :)
The ATO uses an optical sensor, and the AWC uses that same optical sensor as well as a float sensor.

The output of your biopellets where does it go D2? I'm in the process of starting up and just curious your setup.

well, i don't have it yet, but the reactor and filter cylinders i'm waiting on will output back into the return section of the sump... or I could probably send it over to the skimmer section if I wanted.

If anyone has any thoughts on the matter, lemme know!

Finished the 4th and final level of the frag rack last night. :)
Now to get it in the tank and stocked full of frags!

For cutting eggcrate I use a pair of snapon flush cut dykes. Cuts it off smooth. No sanding required.

Who are you calling a dyke?! :p

I think you mean Dikes. :D
My cutters have a little curve to them, but even the outer most curve won't get it flush at any point. I'll have to look for a cheap pair of straight ones sometime.
Thanks for the tip!

I know it's already been said but really a well thought out and executed set-up. I rushed thru and maybe I missed it but do you vent the equipment room? With what arrangement?
P.S. Your's is the first FTS I've ever gotten a positive reaction from my wife, not a reef geek, she was really blown away. Nice job.

From what I understand of bio pellets, doesn't the output need to be close to the skimmer intake? Some even mod their skimmers so the pellet output line connects directly to the skimmer intake.

I could be wrong tho.....
