*d2mini's new 200g Reeftastic Build*

I don't think they would get pulled in from the top, definitely would get blown away u less you run alternating/reverse. And i don't think they are light enough to get lifted up. They probably climbed into it.

Either way, it is a concern and hopefully there is an answer

Dennis... since you seem to be on point and very talented with DIY projects, i nominate you to design an acrylic/plastic mount for the gyre.

Something that attaches in your cabinet and suspends the gyre in the tank. This way no snails can climb onto it!!!!

Oh and while your at it can you get GHL to make a shelf for their doser!

Looking good as always Dennis!

Whoa! As a Gyre owner I am glad I have no small snails (Let alone any snails)! :O
As a prospective gyre owner I am very sad to say that I have innumerable snails constantly reproducing in my tank :(. I have to blow them out of my Monti caps on a daily basis, and my paly colony is constantly absorbing the little buggers into its flesh when they crawl over it during the night. I fear that they would wreak havoc on a gyre... and yet I still desperately want one!

sorry dennis...didnt mean to take away from your updates! everything looks amazing! I love your frag rack!
haha, no worries. :)

lol, ummmm... :worried:

Great setup, tank, thread, and everything. You about have me sold on wanting to try a lifereef skimmer.
Thanks! :)

ha! Have you tried a wire shelf like I'm using?
The tubes can go down between the wires. :)
Look at Lowe's or Home Depot for ClosetMaid or similar.

Here's the Frag/Testing Station.

And what's that I spy?
A white towel bar?

The towel rack is ingenious! Can I trouble you to please post a picture of how you have your doser and additive containers setup? I'm looking for ideas how to place things for my new build, and the wire rack sounds like a winning idea.

I find your cleanliness and organization irksome.

+1

I would have spilled purple pvc primer on that shelf 3 times by now and given up and painted it purple!

Looking great Dennis! The towel rack is a perfect idea. I might just have to steal it ;)

Don
Actually I did spill some clear pvc cleaner!
And the bottom shelf got some purple drops on it. :angryfire:
I need to paint over it.

I currently don't dose any additives. I have the CaRx so that takes care of alk, calc, and mag.
Haven't started dosing anything else yet.
But here you can see the controller sitting on the wire rack.
The doser could sit below it and the dosing tubes would go straight down through the rack.

I agree. At this point you should do another panorama shot so we can see all the half finished jobs to counter the "staged" clean shots so far.

Coming along nicely.
I almost didn't post that towel rack shot due to the plumbing mess on top of the counter! :D

Hello Dennis, great tank. what benefit thos the mangrove do?

Thanks! :)

Here's a couple more....

My Mangroves have doubled or nearly tripled in size. At this point it looks like all 50 of them have sprouted, even ones that I thought were never going to make it but I was too lazy to remove.

And a shot of my short spine sea star that Richard sent me with all the TBS rock.

And speaking of tbs rock, I was just telling someone the other day that I haven't seen any porcelin crabs yet, which I was a little bummed about because I love those guys. Well, last night I was feeding the tank and whatta ya know... I counted at least TWELVE of them! Most were really small, just babies. But there they were, waving their fans. :wavehand: I also count at least 5 big red mithrax crabs every night. I love freebies. :lol2:
