It was close, but I was able to trim the chaeto back down to softball size and walk away unscathed.
Nope! As stated above, i trimmed it down and now it's regrowing again, getting big. Nothing new to show though.
And Mangrove Hill is just kinda doing its thing. Out of 4 mangroves, the tip of one is about to sprout it's first leaves. The second's tip is bright green so not too far behind. The other two, the smallest, aren't looking so good, black tips. They had a rough start. But I know better than to discount them too quickly so they will stay for now and see if they recover.

I attended Reef Currents here in Houston yesterday.
Had a great time hanging out with everyone, checked out a bunch of the national vendors, got to see Sanjay and Mr Saltwater Tank speak (i missed Scott Fellman's talk),
bought some nice coral including a 1st Edition R66 Raccoon Acro from Steve Tyree, and I WON a bunch of great stuff in the raffle!
1: Two $50 gift cards from Unique Corals
2: $200 frag pack from JasonX Corals
3: $200 coral pack from our local vendor Unlimited Color Corals (I chose a two-head rainbow torch
4: Ecotech XR15w LED Light
5: 1 box of Fritz Aquatics RPM Salt
Here's the coral I came home with, and not shown is the rainbow torch i still need to pick up, and a gold torch i bought to replace the one i lost during the rebuild.
Plus i still need to place my order with Unique Corals.
The coral marked "I" is the Tyree 1st edition.
M is an orange Leptosoris similar to JF Jackolantern but not quite.
Haven't ID'd the rest yet.

Yeah, $600 in the hole on that one. Old one can't be fixed.
At least this raffle kinda made up for it.

I was eyeing them at multiple vendors during the whole show but at the going price of $100/head... yikes! Couldn't bring myself to purchase one.

Haha I think you are right... On the other standpoint, I'm done with the led MH arguments..... My tank is speaking to me now since the switch and that is what counts IMO. Frag on D2 ... Glad you are Flexing your CaRx!!
