*d2mini's new 200g Reeftastic Build*

No, I don't use the second float sensor.
I have a max on time set. If the float fails and it reaches max on time it won't have change my salinity all that much, and I'll get a level sensor notification texted to my phone.

Damn thats cool.......was going to use the max on time too, but never thought of the text option! I'll pick your brains a bit later on how to do that if you don't mind?!?!?

It's easy.
Under email notification, create a new recipient but instead of using an email you use your phone number. It will look like this...

YOURNUMBER@txt.att.net

The end may differ slightly with your provider. I just did a google search on sending emails to text with ATT.

If you need I can send you a screen shot with the rest of the setup.

Hi d2mini - I have a couple of quick questions about the fitting you have in your upper tank on your mixing station for auto top off. What kind of fitting is that? How did you install it and make it water tight?

I have the 35 gallon version of those tanks and am worried about drilling holes below the waterline and not being able to make them water tight.

Thank you.

Edit: I just noticed a recent post where your top off comes from Brute container??? I was looking a picture you posted way back when on page 5 ish that showed a yellow tube plumbed into the bottom of the top container.

Ya, it comes from a brute.
Couldn't use the upper container due to gravity/siphon issues.
That's a mini john guest bulkhead fitting. I sealed it with silicone or epoxy or something, I don't remember. And it was a total biatch to install because my arm wasn't long enough to reach it from the inside. I have a mini john guest ball valve on the end and use it to dispense RO water when needed. Like to fill up the spray bottle I use on my mangrove plants.

Few coral pics from this weekend.
And there are more to come once I can finish processing them.

Well all I can say is you must be doing something right because those are some beautiful corals you got there. Great setup and great documentation. Makes me want to get out of a rental house even more so now. :)

Wow, awesome read. Came across this the other day and spent the last few days reading the whole thing. Would love to have a tank set up like this, just need to make room in the basement, learn a bit more, and spend a while convincing the wife that its a good idea haha.

d2mini I have the same reactor as you just not set up yet. are you pulling or pushing the effluent ? how do you like the reborn media now that you have switched ?

You're killing me Dennis. We have the same light except mine is 4ft cause I haven't upgraded yet to 6'. I can't find the sweet spots in my 125 and it's killing me. It's to hot or not enough. Ugh!
Beautiful photos as usual.

Thanks, and good luck!

I was pushing and it was fine. But there is mention of the possibility of it creating excess pressure in the reactor so I just recently switched it to pull. Haven't noticed any difference either way.
The Reborn media is soooo much better. Dissolves much easier than the Coarse ARM.

Thanks!
I'm pushing it with this 72" fixture hanging over an 84" tank, especially with the T5's being only 60".
It works, though. :)

Got the NYOS Nitrate kit.
Very easy to use and read the results.
And just like my old kit, this one is showing unmeasurable nitrates.

When i first set up this tank nearly 3 years ago, I had trouble for a long time getting anything under 10-12. Now I can't even get 1!

After 123 pages, I feel like I have to find something else to do now at work and when working as oncall during system patching....damn good read though, amazing setup. you are a gifted visualizer. Not a trait a lot of people can claim.

very nicely done
