So are the DAS skimmers actually made by DAS in Texas or are they made somewhere else and imported by DAS?

I'm making the assumption that there is nothing Dutch about Dutch Aquarium Systems...

FWIW all of the plumbing parts used by DAS are made in the USA by Spears. If the skimmers were made in Europe or Asia is seems like they would just source local parts, rather then importing US plumbing parts

I don't know about petorama. I ordered Sun and they still haven't shiped or took the money out yet. Don't know whats going on..

I tried to order my EX-1 from Orca and I just got an email letting me know that they are out of stock but they expect to have them available soon.

DAS is not a know brand like deltec or H&S so people buy what they have heard about. Also only 2 places sell these skimmer....

actually - that is a grossly false statement!

There are PLENTY of 'places' that sell DAS Skimmers ... HOWEVER most don't advertise it online.

Dutch Aquarium Systems is a wholesale/distributor business - they do not deal with retail business - hence Petorama.

Alot of LFS's have an account setup with DAS, chances are that one of your LFS has an account setup as well.
Another chance is that yoru LFS will tell you that DAS is a PITA to deal with, and from previous experiences they have seized to order from them due to their poor packaging & poor sucessful shipping rate.

This is the story i got from different LFSs, in Fort Myers, FL, Tampa, Miami & others LFSs that do retail over the internet as a side business.

I ordered my EX2 on Thursday, July 19 early in the morning and received it Thursday, July 25. That was with 2 day express shipping. They aren't the quickest when it comes to processing orders but they do get it done.

Here are a few pictures of my skimmer:

It seems well built and nothing about it looks cheap. One of the air lines is about 8 inches longer than the other one but besides that it's great.

I have joined the DAS skimmer club, I just ordered EX-1 with UPS 2nd day Air from PETORAMA will post progress and pictures.

I just got the BX-2 without any pumps today and would like to know where to get the pumps for it thank you.

Also do i have to use the BX-2 in the sump or can it be used outside of the sump, looks to me like it can only be used inside the sump.

I was just wondering if these skimmers introduce micro bubbles since I don't really want to have an filter sock for the output.

Go for it! I'm gonna try it as well. Dirtier water for the skimmer and 1 less pump to deal with.

I'm feeding mine directly from the overflow. It works well but I had to "T" the overflow before it gets to the skimmer because the skimmer can't handle the flow rate of the entire overflow. The flow rate the skimmer requires isn't very much.
