Took the par meter over to Dave's...WOW what a nice fixture. he did a great job on it. He will post some data, later on the readings.

He has done a very nice job on his tank.....it is so cool to see what people do with all this stuff.

This is more exciting than waiting for the numbers on that plasma system in Syrexcuse we read about for over a year! I don't remember reading anything about it lately.
tic toc tic toc... I can hardly contain myself....
no, really. serious. I'm in need of new lighting. Stick with MH and T5 or make the switch?.....

Sorry guys, I had to get the 75g swap in place before I left for chicago. I ended up not having enough time to get the measurements.

The initial measurements with the glass on were 250 towards the top, down to about 80 at the bottom.

Without the glass, it hit 280 near the top and down to 85 at the bottom.

We also did a test with just the blues and it was near 120 at the top and I think 30-ish at the bottom.

I'd like to post a pic with the whites on and the par readings, then one with just the blues on (and readings), and a final pic with both colors on.

which meter did you use and in what setting to get these par#?
did you take a reading just out above and out of the water?

It was my PAR meter. By definition par meters are calibrated more to the photosynthetic spectrum as compared to the visable spectrum.
The measurements were in the water. So about 4-6 inches deep it was at about 280.
It was very impressive.

yes the leds are awesome with great penetration ability . we just hooked up three eco tech units over a custom 240 and the bottom of the tank looked as white as a piece of paper . it is amazing how bright they are i just hope they aren't to bright as he may be fighting algae if he get any nutrient level going in the tank at all .
crossing fingers ?
