Any benefits to do a single blackout day?? I've heard of people doing 3 consecutive days, but never just 1 day.

It may just be me but I swear I get new growth tips every time I do it. After the blackout it looks SO good the entire day too. Zero algae, new growth and a clean tank.

I also just finished my DIY box for my dosers, it is a little sloppy but looks good to me.

I finished up the DIY box for my dosers with one extra hole I stopped by Target and found a black storage cube that fits on the side of my stand and holds the calcium,alk and dosers. Perfection!

I dont believe that that star is considered reef safe... but then again perhaps it wont live long with that lil feller getting all ninja on it.

I don't think star fish are safe from anything. I had on that was eaten by my green carpet anemone... and this was no small starfish!

As far as the starfish, its a sandsifter. It only eats pods and junk in the sand.

Are you still happy with ATI Sunpower? I've decided to get one for my 90 gallon and add some LEDs for shimmer. I also agree with you that the Sunpower looks better than the PM.

How big was your eel when you got it?

Well it looks like North Carolina is in for a ton of snow this year. This is the second storm with 7\"+! Needless to say I was out and about and just having a few beers.

The tank has been on auto pilot for the past month. I really need to go in and zap the aptasia and bubble algae but things have been growing so well that I dont really mind. My red planet has been the only thing struggling because of the evil minion ( Blenny ). I snapped a few photos with the old trusty point and shoot and they turned out really well.
