Deep and dark - Elos 120XL deepwater biotope

I was very pleasantly surprised this week , when my tank was featured on ************ this Tuesday. Unfortunately can't post a link here on RC . I guess even the name is not allowed here :(

New arrivals last night

I don't think I've ever seen a crinoid in a tank before. Very interesting!

The Tinkers butterfly is one of my favorite.. if only they didn't need the tank cold!

Love the squat lobsters but RIP to that Crinoid. Although, you will probably be able to keep it alive longer than most

Very good job !!!

Awesome tank !!

Navigating us in the dark side of the sea.

We are looking forward to see the future of this tank.....:bounce3:

Verry beautifull the last aditions. That butterflyfish is deeper water too.The atlantic long nose butterfly(prognatodes aculeatus) is the one that is most ,,deep water,, butterfly for aquarium. The deeper water the butterfly is,the more reef safe it is.The lobsters are amazing and even the star that should do well in a NPS tank.

Quick update on my qt. Tinkeri butterfly is doing great now. Couple of days after I got her from LFS it was covered in ich everywhere , also I saw signs of flukes. That's so important to have qt ready, as even best LFS can't prevent all disease. She is in 60 mg/gal CP and after 2 treatment with General Cure which is Prazipro and Metro mixed together. I was scared for couple of days as she stopped eating and only was breathing with one gill, the other was shut. But few days later she looks clean and eating like pig, also is breathing normal with both gills. She will stay in CP for full 30 days, after that I will observe her for another week or so, and if all good will go in DT before holidays.

Not much has changed, corals and fish continue to do well, tank is mostly on autopilot right now. Waiting for some new fish, when they become available and always looking for new NPS corals.
Quick top view picture after feeding today.

Love this. I had lots of nps a few years ago but had to give them up. This system and Nox's has tempted me to add new sun to begin with (which should be delivered soon) to get me back into it albeit in a small way. So thanks
