Deeznutz Hd 120 Shallow rimless (Pics)

The back panel separated after about 7-8 months.....I was informed that it was because the silicone has not cured, and not design or workmanship. Specially displeasing was that I was getting pressure to take delivery, and got it a week or two after they wanted to deliver it. It was a Miracles tank of the over $3k variety. The tank was eventually scrapped as I had no place to house 270G worth of SPS during the repair/reconstruction and curing process.

Now this really worries me :( I got the 3/4 glass, so I hope it's cured on the inside. Tanks build has been almost 4 months now. And I believe it's been curing for 2 weeks.

Your build and planning is phenomenal. What a joy.

Thank you so much. I'm glad you are enjoying it as much as I am:hmm5:

So the hunt continues for the return pump. No one seems to have any suggestions? I think I'm going to shoot for 400-600gph through the sump and take it from there.

I got a phone call early this morning about my stand. I had to go look at it and discuss the build with the builder. Good news and bad news but it really depends on how you look at it.

The good, it's almost done! :celeb1: I took a bunch of pics to document the build.

The bad(not really) I have been advised to not have the front of the tank completely flush as the joints will most likely crack and show where the wood has been joined. So the alternative is to have a 1/8th" over hang so a line can be formed and not worry about cracking. The suggestion came from the builder who looks to be about 80years old. So I'm betting he knows a thing or two. Maybe three.

After examining the stand I was quite pleased with how it's coming along. The workmanship is top tier for sure. I just ask to have two extra supports added to bring the load to the ground.

The stand design has changed a little bit due to building constraints, so the design has taken a different direction but it's coming together nicely. I added drawers to the design and went with turned legs instead of square 4x4's

Let me know what you guys think?

Lol, I don't think this could hold a goldfish bowl securely.

Here are the real pics, you can see we had the top 4x4 hang over the edge to eliminate the cracking paint problem. I have to say, this sucka is pretty darn heavy. I think this stand has some potential to be a real looker :)

Fantastic. This is going to be one sweet setup. What are your plans for livestock?

Thanks,

This tank is going to be SPS dominated with a few lps and zoanthids.

As for fish I'm not too sure. I have a few ideas

First and initial idea was to fill it with tangs

Achilles
Desjardini (already in frag tank)
Kole tang
Yellow tang
Purple tang
Pair of picasso clowns (already in frag tank)
Mandarin goby (already in frag tank)
Pair of tailspot blennys (already in frag tank)

But after rethinking it, it might be a bit crammed for 5 tangs. Plus water quality will be harder to maintain. Any suggestions on this fish list?

The second list looks a bit like this.

Achilles
Desjardini (already in frag tank)
Pair of Blacker ice clowns
Pair of picasso clowns (already in frag tank)
Mandarin goby (already in frag tank)
Pair of tailspot blennys (already in frag tank)
Pair of flame wrasse
Sargassum trigger

Any one have experience with keeping two different mated pair of clowns?

The third list is

Achilles
Desjardini (already in frag tank)
Pair of picasso clowns (already in frag tank)
Mandarin goby (already in frag tank)
Pair of tailspot blennys (already in frag tank)
12 Apogon parvulus cardinals

Anyone have positive experience with Apogon parvulus cardinals?

Any feed back on these fish list would be awesome.

I just receive pics from my builder, looks like it's about ready for paint :bounce1::bounce1::bounce1:

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I've without a main display tank for a long time now :) Holding tank in the basement just doesn't cut it lol.

Here are the pumps that I'm considering.

ReeFlo Super Dart/Snapper Gold Hybrid Pump (back ordered 4-6 weeks
Feed frag tank of pump
14' Head pressure
955gph
155watts

Water Blaster HY-10000 Pump (2600GPH)
Drain fed frag tank
14' Head pressure
400gph
130watts

Waveline DC10000II Internal & External Pump w/Controller
Drain fed frag tank
14' Head pressure
450gph
132watts

Waveline DC 12000 Internal & External Pump w/Controller
Feed frag tank off pump
14' Head pressure
977gph
170w

Anyone running any of the above mentioned pumps? The Water Blaster HY-10000 Pump (2600GPH) seems to be a good option

Ok, so I'm off to view my stand POst pics when I get back

Thanks

stand looks freakin awesome please pm the builders contact!
is he in the gta?

I would get a fluval sea series (model sp6) over any pump
can't beat it for the money NAFB has them they are inexpensive and move around 3400gph at
under 140watts. Reliable , dead silent and the ALWAYS kick back on after a poweroutage

Im running a waterblaster 5000 on my dsa 105 and love it, very quiet, not bad on wattage and works well w my battery b/u, instant switch over, the waveline dc has a delay when pwred off and on, enought that sump fills up all the way, and my last waveline lasted 1yr then died.

Thanks,

Achilles

Big thumbs up on adding a kole tang and a yellow tang there. Kole tang is a workhorse and that investment will pay off shortly with your rocks being clean. Yellow tang might have a bit of a problem with desjardini, so it might be good to introduce both at the same time.

Personally I would risk it with a powder blue (my favourite fish of all time), but that's a very tricky fish to keep.

4 tangs would probably be max for this tank. I had a 3 tang combo in my 100 gallon 48'' tank (search for Winterfell Reef), they were Yellow Tang, Blue Tang and a Kole Tang and they got along just fine.

Fish stocking is just so darn hard. I love fish just as much as sps lol.
If I could I would just jam pack this tank full of fish lol

Update time....

So after speaking to Miracles, my new tank will be delivered tomorrow :celeb1:
I only ordered the tank back in Christmas 2013 lol.

Thursday I will be draining my holding/frag/reef tank in my basement.
I've decided to make my fish room somewhat decent looking. So I'll be studding it on thursday and run some electrical to it.

I'm thinking 1 20 amp feed should be enough enough juice for my needs. Any thoughts on how I should run the electrical?

Heres some pics of what my holding/frag/reef tank looks like. I hope the move doesn't disturb things too much as it's a veery stable system. It's only moving about 10 feet.

Thoughts, ideas and/or straight up criticism, please let me know before I'm too far into the build.
Much much more to come!!!
