Delayed anemone shipment

Delayed anemone shipment - anyone had this happen to them?

Got a box that missed the flight yesterday - will arrive tomorrow. Seven or eight BTAs. Odds of survival?

If they were packed correctly, with oxygen in the bag and the box is stored in a heated warehouse their chances should be good.

I had a shipment with 4 fish, a seastar and a SPS coral delayed from Saturday delivery to Monday and the inverts all survived and are still fine, but two of the 4 fish did not recover and died a couple of days later.

I had a Ritteri show up after a 44 hour ordeal. It was a bit chilly but was fine !

Arrival : 11/26/14

i had a red carpet delayed shipment for 1 day in the mmiddle of the winter with a bag leaking, he came in super strong and stick to the bag and wont let go. but then again it was a very healthy carpet in an established tank for months before being shipped and its a haddoni so it is stronger than the mag. your mag looks pretty good from the picture. GL.

Well, the box arrived. Packaging was topnotch, everything triple bagged, padded as if there was a 100yr old bottle of Scotch in there, then sealed in thick styro box.

The water was 67f. I keep my nem system at 71f, so the acclimation was minor. There were six nems in the box. Two have holes all the way through, two have gaping mouths and the last two just look unhappy. All six are fully acclimated, and in baskets. I may cut the two that look like donuts later today, depending on how they settle in.

This is a FedEx issue, not the vendor.

Fingers crossed.

Good luck with the anemones.I think they do better in cooler water then fish. Why do you keep the anemone water so cool?

I'd like to know why you keep the temp at 71 also. But how is it the shipping company fault with two of your nems with holes in them?

my system is 76 in summer and 71 in winter with no heater of chiller. Everything looks good and SPS grow with color. I may add a heater for winter (now my controller is fixed)

I think the nems were stressed from the shipping delay, not unhealthy specimens from the supplier.

So how did they do after several weeks? Likely you had several stressed division. Hope all made it fine
