DI Water Only

Something is going wrong when i changed the membrane on my RO Filter and it is not producing enough good water. it appears to all be by passing the membrane when i changed the membrane. i tried the old membrane and same result. In the short term can I simply make DI water for topoff water?

No there does not appear to be a flush valve for the membrane on the membrane housing unit. There is an inlet at one end with 2 outlets on the other end for waste and good water. It doesn't appear to be flushable. I even tried the old membrane i had just replaced and it had the same results.

Seems odd. You can use the di alone, but you'll burn through it very quickly. Be prepared to replace and keep your eye on tds. You have a Spectrapure unit right? Their service is second to none. Try calling or emailing them tomorrow am

Btw - I wonder if somehow the flow restrictor got messed up somehow...check in with Spectrapure and be prepared to send pics

Tom,

I think your right, but pulled it out and screwed it back in snf it's still the same result. frustrating

+1 for a seal or flow restrictor issue on the waste line resulting in not enough pressure to push water through the membrane.

Good to hear from you Tom. Hope all is well.

Kent, Good to see the club is still alive and well. I am doing good how about you?

My koi pond is doing awesome and that is where I spent most of my time. I Just built a protein skimmer for and soon will integrate ozone into it :D

That's awesome about the protein skimmer for your koi Tom. I've always thought there's enough of a bioload with a koi pond to be able to skim stuff out, even with fresh water.

I am doing well thanks. My oldest was just hired as an artist for Disney. My middle daughter graduated high school with a better than 4.0 gpa and goes off to college in two weeks. My youngest just graduated #1 in her class. :)
