Disappearing Wrasse

So the yesterday I bought a common cleaner wrasses, soon as I drop him on the tank my tang is all over his ***. Fortunately those little wrasse are quite speedy and the tang never managed to catch him. After about 30 mins the tang stopped bothering the wrasse and actually let him get close enough to clean his face. Everything seems kosher so I leave for a few hours, come back and the wrasses is nowhere to be found :angryfire:. I was worried about the tang chasing him out of the the tank but I checked 10 feet around the tank, nothing on the floor, in the overflow, or in the sump, and no corpse!!!! Only think I can think of is I did see it swim into some pretty tight holes in the rock and was surprised to see him turn right around and swim out. Think it's possible he swam into too tight a hole and got stuck O.o?

Also on a completely different note, anyone keep any conchs? Good/bad exp, seems like it would be good to have one around. AoA has a couple was thinking of getting one :D

Re-appearing wrasse! Really I swear I spent at least an hour staring at my tank last night looking for this little guy. Came out this morning still no sign, couple hours later the lights come on... there he is swimming around O.O must have a really good hiding spot on the backside of the rockwork.

I have a blue streak cleaner wrasse as well and he loves to sleep in a empty dead tunicate rock. I've read though that they don't always live long in captivity but I have had mine for about a year and a half and it eats everything. It does tend to follow new additions which is annoying and stresses the newbs a little but they eventually get over it.

I have several conchs and they keep the sand nice and clean. I think I have 5 in my 120.

AoA... Age of Aquariums? You should come to one of our SCRK meetings. We have a great group of people. 3rd Sunday of every month.

BeanMachine, you are located some 400 miles south of us. But thanks for the meeting invite. ;)

We have our own Age of Aquariums here.
