Hello i heard great things about these nanostreams but for a few days now my 6045 had started to make this loud clanky sound that i can see if from the impeller rattling up and down as it spins in the housing. I tried everything to clean it but no luck.

Any way to fix this Tunze?

6025 and 6045 click at startup by design, it is the impeller clicking against the housing attempting to right itself to spin in the correct direction. Keep in mind these are not designed to be ran on a wavemaker, and intervals of anythng less than 15 minutes are not recommended and I believe void warranty.

As Shawn said, since prop pumps have to correct direction, they only propel water forward when spinning the right way, their are 2 options, electronic pumps like the 6055 that use a sensor and electronics to guide start up and don't click as a result, and synchronous pumps like the 6015, 6025 and 6045 which instead use a mechanical stop. This mechanical stop clicks as the propeller hits the stops, they cannot be used on wavemakers. This clicking is caused by the propeller impacting the front cover and changing direction. This will occur on every start and start cycles of more than once every 15 minutes will void the warranty and lead to propeller breakage.

i dont have this on a wavemaker or timer.. its on all the time. plugged into an outlet on its own.. and not sure where it says i am using it on a wavemaker or timer..

The rattling is not just when you turn it on.. its there 24/7.. and its spinning in the right direction as i can see the water moving forward. And it didnt do this a few weeks ago.. nor is my 6025 this loud after a few weeks..

So is there something wrong with the stop mechanism? anyway to test the prop? could i swap the props of the 6025 to the 6045 to test??

That should not be. I would make sure the front cover is on all the way and that the blue flow adjustment tube (assuming this is a newer model 6045) is not loose or out of its groove so the prop could hit it. You could also try swapping your 6025 prop and see if the noise follows the prop.

i had a used 6025 and mine was great for years and then started making a rattling noise.
I purchased a new impeller and disc (the little spacer thing) and my pump has been rocking ever since.

(roger will help you out. hes a great guy and gives amazing service!)

hey figured out the problem. i realized the rod in the middle is missing.. i must have knocked it off somehow when cleaning. is this repairable?

This should not happen on a pump this new, the shaft is pretty firmly imbedded in the pump. Do you have the older 6045 without the flow adjustment or the new one with flow adjustment? The shaft is not available as a separate part, it is permanently pressed into the motor. My guess is that it was not pressed in completely at the factory and thus was easily removed. Let me know the type of 6045 so we can get this taken care of.

For warranty coverage send it in with a receipt, it must have been purchased new less than 2 years ago. We will replace it under warranty. If it was purchased more than 2 years ago or bought used, you would need part 6045.100 to repair it.
